When Forgiveness Feels Impossible!

Good morning, my friend.

Colossians 3:13 says, “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another… even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”

Let’s be honest: people can hurt us. Sometimes it’s a careless word. Sometimes it’s a disappointment that keeps coming back to mind. And when that happens, forgiveness can feel like the last thing we want to offer.

But notice where this verse points us: “even as Christ forgave you.”

Jesus didn’t wait for us to deserve His forgiveness. He showed us mercy when we needed it most. And because we’ve received that kind of grace, God calls us to extend grace to others.

Forgiving someone doesn’t mean the hurt didn’t matter. It means we’re placing that hurt in God’s hands instead of letting bitterness take hold of our hearts.

Maybe today you need to begin with a simple prayer: “Lord, help me forgive the way You have forgiven me.”

It may take time. Keep bringing it to God. His grace is enough for the next step.

My friend, we’ve been forgiven much. Let’s ask the Lord to help us forgive others—and press on in His grace.
