When Your Mind Won’t Stop!

Good morning, my friend.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to be still when your mind won’t stop moving? You sit down, but inside you’re still running. Trying to figure things out. Trying to fix what’s broken. Trying to get ahead of something that hasn’t even happened yet.

And right in the middle of all that, God says, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Psalm 46 describes trouble, shaking mountains, and raging waters. This invitation to be still comes right in the middle of the storm.

Friend, you may not be able to settle everything around you this morning, but you can bring your heart before the One who rules over it all.

You don’t have to carry every burden as though everything depends on you. There are things you can do, and you ought to do them. But there are things you must place in God’s hands and trust Him to handle.

So before you pick up your phone or get caught up in today’s demands, take a moment. Breathe. Open God’s Word. Pray, “Lord, help me trust You with what I cannot control.”

Remember who He is. He is your refuge. He is your strength. And He is present in your trouble.

Be still. Trust God. And Press On!
