“Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” -James 5:8 (KJV)
What if the reason you’re tempted to give up today is because you’ve forgotten what you’re waiting for?
Waiting is hard.
We wait for prayers to be answered. We wait for circumstances to change. We wait for doors to open. And sometimes, after we’ve waited long enough, we begin to wonder if anything is ever going to change.
But James gives us this encouragement: “Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts.”
That word stablish means to make firm, to strengthen, to become settled.
In other words, don’t let the waiting shake your faith.
You may not understand what God is doing right now, but you can trust who God is. His promises haven’t changed. His Word is still true. And His timing is still perfect.
James reminds us of something even greater: “the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”
Friend, this world is not all there is.
Jesus is coming again.
So don’t allow temporary trouble to make you lose sight of an eternal promise. Keep praying. Keep serving. Keep loving. Keep believing. Keep your heart anchored in Jesus.
You may be tired, but don’t quit while you’re waiting.
Here’s your challenge today: Steady your heart, strengthen your faith, and live today like you believe Jesus could come at any moment.
And if these daily encouragements help you keep walking with Jesus, follow or subscribe and share this with somebody who needs a reason to keep holding on today.
Remember, my friend: The wait won’t last forever, but the promise of Jesus will.
