Who Gets The Final Word?

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)

There are moments in life when we become painfully aware of our shortcomings. We remember words we wish we had never spoken, choices we wish we could undo, and seasons when we wandered farther than we intended. The weight of sin can feel heavy, and the distance from God can feel far.

But 2 Corinthians 5:21 reminds us of something life-changing.

Jesus, who never sinned, willingly took our sin upon Himself.

He did not deserve the cross — we did.

He did not earn judgment — we did.

Yet in His love, He stepped into our place.

Think about that.

The spotless Son of God took upon Himself the stain of our sin so that we could receive the gift of His righteousness.

This is the great exchange.

Our guilt for His grace.

Our shame for His righteousness.

Our brokenness for His wholeness.

When Jesus died on the cross, He was not simply showing us love — He was making a way for us to be made right with God.

We do not stand before God based on our own goodness.

We stand before God clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

That means our past does not define us.

Our failures do not own us.

Our sin does not have the final word.

Jesus does.

If you are carrying guilt today, remember this:

Your sin was placed on Christ.

His righteousness is offered to you.

Receive His grace.

Walk in freedom.

Live in gratitude.

Because of Jesus, you are not who you used to be.

You are forgiven.

You are accepted.

You are made right with God through Christ.

That is not just good news.

That is life-changing news.
