Anyone!

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” -Matthew 16:24 (KJV)

There is something powerful about the invitation Jesus gives in this verse. He does not force anyone… He calls anyone. “If any man will come after me…” That means the door is open. The opportunity is real. The path is available to every heart willing to trust Him.

But Jesus also reminds us that following Him is not always easy. He says, deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me. In a world that constantly tells us to put self first, Jesus lovingly calls us to something greater. He calls us to a life of purpose that is bigger than comfort… a life that is richer than convenience… a life that reaches beyond the temporary and touches the eternal.

Denying self is not about losing your life, it is about finding the life God designed for you. Taking up your cross is not about defeat, it is about devotion. Following Jesus is not about restriction, it is about redemption.

Every day we have a choice. We can live only for what feels easy… or we can live for what truly matters.

When we follow Christ, we discover that what we give up could never compare to what we gain. We gain peace that passes understanding. We gain purpose that carries us through trials. We gain the joy of knowing we are walking in step with the Savior.

So today, take a step toward Him. Lay aside whatever is holding you back. Pick up the cross He has placed before you… and follow Him with confidence.

Because the path of surrender always leads to the life of blessing.
