Don’t Let Yesterday Steal Today!

“…It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23

One of the greatest things about waking up to a new day is knowing that God has already placed fresh mercy in it.

Yesterday may not have gone the way you wanted.

Maybe you made some mistakes.
Maybe somebody disappointed you.
Maybe you carried a burden to bed last night that was still on your mind when you opened your eyes this morning.

But here’s the good news:

God didn’t run out of mercy yesterday!

Jeremiah said, “They are new every morning.”

That means you don’t have to face today living on yesterday’s supply.

There is fresh grace for today.
Fresh strength for today.
Fresh hope for today.
Fresh mercy for today.

And I love how Jeremiah finishes it:

“Great is thy faithfulness.”

Our circumstances may change, but God doesn’t.

Our emotions may rise and fall, but God remains faithful.

We may not know what this day will bring, but we know Who will be with us through it.

So don’t let yesterday steal today.

Yesterday is gone.

This morning is another reminder from God that He isn’t finished with you yet.

Take a deep breath. Thank God for another day. Receive the mercy He has already provided, and keep moving forward.

Because every sunrise carries the same beautiful reminder:

God has been faithful before.

God is faithful today.

And God will be faithful tomorrow.
