Do Not Be Afraid!

Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.”

One of the greatest traps we can fall into in life is living for the approval of people. Fear will make you second guess yourself. It will make you stay quiet when God says speak. It will make you hold back when God says move forward. The fear of man is a snare because it slowly ties up your joy, your confidence, and your obedience to God.

I have learned something over the years. People’s opinions change like the weather. One day they praise you, the next day they criticize you. If your peace depends on people, your peace will always be unstable.

But this verse gives us a better way. “Whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.”

There is safety in trusting God. There is peace in knowing that His opinion matters more than anyone else’s. When you know who holds your future, you do not have to be controlled by fear.

Sometimes you just have to take a deep breath, pray, and obey God anyway.

Do not let fear keep you from being who God called you to be. Do not let the voices around you become louder than the voice of God within you.

Walk forward in faith today. Trust Him. God has never failed His people, and He is not about to start now.
