Need Restoration?

Psalm 23:3 says, “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

There are seasons in life when we become tired deeper than physical exhaustion. Sometimes the soul grows weary. Life has a way of draining us through stress, disappointment, heartache, and the constant pressure of everyday living.

But I love what David reminds us in this verse: God is still in the restoring business.

Notice the verse does not say we restore ourselves. It says, “He restoreth my soul.” There are some burdens too heavy for human strength. There are some hurts too deep for motivational words alone. But the Good Shepherd knows how to reach into the tired places of our lives and breathe fresh strength into us again.

God knows how to restore peace when your mind feels troubled.

He knows how to restore joy when life has become heavy.

He knows how to restore hope when you feel discouraged.

And not only does He restore us, but He also leads us. God never restores us just to leave us standing still. He restores us so He can guide us forward into the right path for our lives.

Maybe today you feel worn down, distracted, or spiritually exhausted. Let this encourage your heart: The Shepherd still knows where you are, and He still knows how to lead you.

Slow down today.

Spend time in His presence.

Open His Word.

Talk to Him in prayer.

The God who created your soul is fully able to restore it.
