John 20:21 says, “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
I love the setting of this verse because the disciples were not standing on a mountain shouting in victory. They were behind closed doors, fearful, uncertain, and wondering what came next. And right in the middle of their fear, Jesus showed up.
That ought to encourage somebody today.
Jesus did not wait until they had everything figured out before He came to them. He stepped into the room while they were still struggling. And the first thing He spoke was peace.
“Peace be unto you.”
There is something powerful about knowing that the presence of Jesus can calm a troubled heart. He brings peace that circumstances cannot steal.
But then Jesus says something even greater. “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
In other words, your story is not over. Your failure is not final. Your fear does not disqualify you. Jesus still has a purpose for your life.
The same disciples who were hiding behind closed doors would soon walk boldly into the world carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Why? Because when Jesus steps into your life, He does not just give you peace. He gives you purpose.
Maybe today you feel uncertain about the future. Maybe fear has tried to close you in. But hear me clearly: Jesus still walks into locked rooms. He still speaks peace. And He still sends ordinary people to do extraordinary things for the glory of God.
Do not let fear keep you from the assignment God has placed on your life. The One who sends you will also walk with you.
