Remember What Is Really Important!

Go For "ALL" Of It!

I went to my Doctor today for a check-up!  I’ve lost about 35 pounds, have been exercising and trying to eat better!  My Doctor said I was the easiest patient that she had seen all day!  It made me feel good!

I went to meet my Savior this morning for a little personal time!  I’m forgiven of my sin, been working to be a better witness and am trying to live 24/7! for Him!  The Holy Spirit said to keep up the good work!  It made me feel great!

Several of us at Northwood have gotten into losing weight, eating healthy and exercising regularly.  This is a very good thing, because the Bible teaches that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit!  1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says:  “19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Let’s think about this verse for a minute!  Our body is the Holy Spirit’s temple!  The Holy Spirit (God) resides in you and me!  We need to take care of ourselves.  We need to eat healthy and exercise regularly, but we don’t need to do it at the expense of our to take and make the time for growing and developing spiritually.

The Word teaches that the motivation for taking care of our bodies should be because our bodies are filled with the Holy Spirit of God, not so that we can fit into a smaller size of jeans!  If we are not careful, we can get so caught up in eating right, exercising at all hours and totally miss investing time with God and others.

This Scripture teaches that we are to honor God with our bodies!  So while we are getting fit physically, we need to make sure that we are also getting fit spiritually!  Both matter and both are important!

1 Timothy 4:8  says “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” I don’t think you have to choose one over the other, but if there is a choice to be made, the Bible makes it pretty clear what is more important!

Let’s keep working on our physical bodies and let’s make them healthy and happy temples for the Holy Spirit.  Let us also work on our spiritual lives by learning to live 24/7! for God and His glory.  He could return at any minute, so make sure that you make every minute count His way!  God Bless, Press On and G3!

TODAY!

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalms 118:24

Today is what you’ve got!  Yesterday is past and tomorrow is not promised!  Don’t get stuck in the rut of the past and don’t get lost in the daydreams of the future!  Live the life that God has given you right now in this moment and get the most from it!

Some times we so concern ourselves with the future that we miss the joy of today.  Today slips right past us, without our even realizing that it has gone.  Don’t worry about the future and stop yearning for what you hope is better over the next horizon.

Take today, live it, enjoy it and make life better in the here and now!  Stop putting off living in the here and now, because you are so focused on what might happen one day in the there and yonder!  You are missing life, hoping to one day live life – that’s sad and dumb!

At times we fail to get the most out of today, because we have allowed ourselves to get stuck in the past.  We regret things that have happened as we dwell on things that are over and done with!  The past is behind you – do what you can about your mistakes, learn from them and move on!  Once the past is past, the only thing that you can do about it, is learn from it!

Live today – today!  You possibly have the next 24 hours – what are you going to do with those hours?  How do you plan to invest or waste those hours?  Will you use those hours to make life better?  You get to make the choice about how you will spend those hours.  The minutes that you are living right now are currency you can use to buy happiness, fulfillment and purpose!  Get the most out of your minutes, enjoy the differences of every hour and make every day count!

Right Now!  Stop reading, start living and enjoy it, because this moment is God’s gift to you and what you do with it, is your gift to God!

Don’t Worry!

Simple Teaching/Powerful Truth! Jesus teaches that we should not worry or have anxiety about anything!  He has given us our life and He will take care of our life as we trust Him!  We are not even to waste our time thinking about life or its circumstances, because while we waste time focusing on the circumstances of life, we are losing time in doing His will and being who He created us to be!

Off Of Me And Onto Him! I take off my care, concern and worry and place it on the Lord.  I refuse to worry or be afraid.  I choose instead to put my trust and confidence in God.  God will take care of me, because He loves me.  I thank God for being present and real in my life and for giving me the gift of peace, which words cannot even begin to explain.  Jesus teaches that I am not to let my heart be troubled or afraid, so I choose to keep my mind and heart focused on Him, His love, grace, mercy, forgiveness and hope, knowing that He will never leave me or forsake me!

Challenge Is Coming! I know that challenges and even affliction will come my way, but I also know that He will deliver me out of it all!  I choose to look to Him.  I will not worry or live in fear about the circumstances of my life.  God told me that there would be tribulation in the world in which I live, and He also told me to be of good cheer because He has overcome this world and will help me to overcome this world too!

Live For Today! I choose not to worry about the future, but to live my life today refusing to worry or be anxious.  My future whatever it is, is in God’s hands and I know that this is the very best place for it and me to be!

God Has A Plan! I choose to remind myself that all, not some, all things work together for good to those who love God.  The only change that worry brings to my circumstances is the change of making my circumstances worse!  What Satan means for evil, I know and trust that God will use for good.

My Walk! I choose to enjoy the freedom that God has provided for me!  I choose to walk in the victory that the name of Jesus has given.  I choose not to worry, but to live a thriving life that brings glory to God as I walk in His amazing will and blessing!
