Do You Care Where People Will Spend Eternity?

Eternity!

“Do you really care where people will spend eternity?” I posted this question on Facebook last week and was a little surprised by the response.  Some responded with a simple yes.  Some responded enthusiastically, but with an excuse attached.  Some responded with the explanation that they have room for improvement.  Most did not respond at all – which may be the most telling of all!

I started thinking about this question last week, because sometimes in my effort to try and care about – where people will spend eternity and in my efforts to try and do something about it, I get bogged down. It’s not that I don’t care, it that sometimes I care so much that my focus gets all messed up, I get lost and become ineffective to really do anything about it!

Just asking myself this question – helps me to get my focus back right. We know what our answer should be.  We should care and the reason that many of us are afraid to answer the question is because we know that following the “yes” answer is another question – “What are you doing about it?” We don’t answer the first question, because we are really afraid of the second question, because the second question may just reveal that our answer to the first question was not true! (Go back and read that three times fast!)

If we really care about where people will spend eternity, then it has to change our lives and the way we live them! When we focus on getting this question right, We are a better people.  This question challenges us and challenge is not a bad thing, if we are willing to change and grow!

In thinking about this all weekend, I finally came to this place.  Maybe we need to start by asking ourselves this question:  “Do you care where you will spend eternity?” If you care where you will spend eternity, then you will care where others spend eternity.  Think about it and let the Spirit grow you in some amazing ways this week!  G3!

This Is Really Not Negative!

Friends!

This is going to sound like a negative blog, but hang with me!  I do not mean for it to sound negative and in my heart, I know that I do not mean for it to be negative.  I just believe there is someone out there that the Spirit has this word for today!

People will walk into your life and people will walk out of your life.  People will love you and people will hate you.  People will be there for you and people will turn their back on you.  We have to learn to take the good with the bad – that’s just the reality of life!

We sometimes think that people walking out on us, hating us or turning their backs on us is a bad thing, but I am not sure that it’s such a bad thing.  In my years of living, I have experienced extremes on both sides of the coin.  I have had people to walk into my life and immediately, they made my life better and sweeter.  I have also had some people to walk out of my life and as much as a part of me hates to admit it – it ultimately made my life better and sweeter.

Some people will come and stay and God bless them for it – I would hate to have to think of doing life without them.  Some people will come and go and when they go, they will take a little part of our heart, just be thankful for the time that you had together and for whatever you learned – negative or positive.

Now for the really good news:  God has promised in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never leave us or forsake us.  Everyone else may walk out, but He never will and as long as He is with you – everything is going to be alright!  G3!

P.S.  I really am thankful for the friends that make my life so much better – I don’t even want to think about trying to do life without you!  Thank you for being my friend near and far!  God Bless & Press On!

Tough Lessons!

Feeling Better!

This has been a tough week!  I have not felt very good physically and for me that is a very rare thing.  I am a fairly healthy person and if I get sick, I can usually fight it off quickly.  This week was different!  Something started in on me and then decided to play “peek-a-boo” over the next several days.  I felt “bad” and then “normal” on a repeated basis.  Just when I would begin to think that I was getting on top of it – BAM!  It would hit again.

In some ways I am tough and ready to take it on and in some ways I am a wimp and just want to face what I’ve got to face and move on!  I consider myself a productive person.  My days are filled with activity that at the end of the day almost always produce tangible results.  Feeling the way that I have been feeling, makes hard charging the way I do, almost impossible.

Yesterday, I started out with my usual morning charge, only to discover by about 9:45 AM that I was out of steam!  I wanted to make myself charge on through it, with the hopes that I would feel better on the other side, but I had tried that for three days with little success.  I decided yesterday, that I would step outside of my schedule and give the Great Physician some time to do His thing.

He has started!  I am not completely there yet, but I am on my way.  I am thankful for the physical healing and a little bit surprised by the spiritual, emotional and mental healing that I was not expecting and did not realize that I was in need of!

Let me remind you of the obvious!  God loves you!  He loves you, not because of what you do or who you are!  He loves you, because that’s what God does and that is Who God is!  Step outside of the business, allow yourself be loved today and enjoy it – you’ll be glad you did!
