Before You Make Another Decision, Ask God This!

Some of the biggest mistakes we make in life happen when we are absolutely convinced we know what we are doing.

We can be intelligent, experienced, confident, and completely wrong.

That is why the most important question is not, “What do I think?”

It is, “What does God say?”

Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

My friend, real wisdom begins when we recognize who God is and give Him His rightful place in our lives.

To fear the Lord does not mean that we spend our lives terrified of God. It means we reverence Him. We respect Him. We trust His wisdom above our own.

It is being humble enough to say, “God, You know more than I know. You see what I cannot see. So instead of asking You to bless what I have already decided, I want You to show me what You want me to do.”

We live in a world filled with information, but information alone will not guide your life.

You need wisdom.

Wisdom for your family.

Wisdom for your relationships.

Wisdom for your decisions.

Wisdom for those moments when you simply do not know what to do next.

And Proverbs tells us where to start.

Start with God.

Before you make the decision, talk to God.

Before you follow your feelings, open His Word.

Before you listen to every other voice, listen for His.

And if you are facing something today that you cannot figure out, do not be discouraged.

You do not have to know everything when you know the One who does.

Put God first. Trust His Word. Follow His direction.

He already sees around the corner you cannot see around.

So take the next step with confidence, my friend.

God knows where you are. God knows where you are going. And when you let Him lead, you can trust Him to get you where you need to be.
