Love Is A Choice, Not A Feeling!

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind…” -1 Corinthians 13:4 (KJV)

One of the greatest tests of our Christian faith is not how loud we sing on Sunday or how much Bible knowledge we possess. One of the greatest tests is how we love people.

The Bible says, “Charity suffereth long, and is kind.” In other words, real love is patient, and real love is kind.

That sounds simple until someone disappoints us, frustrates us, or hurts our feelings. It is easy to love people when everything is going well. It is much harder to love when relationships become difficult.

Yet God’s love toward us has always been patient and kind. Think about how many times He has forgiven us, how many times He has shown mercy when we did not deserve it, and how many times He has remained faithful even when we were not.

Because we have received that kind of love, we are called to give that kind of love.

Today, ask yourself this question: Who needs a little patience from me? Who needs a little kindness from me?

A kind word may change someone’s day. A patient response may heal a wounded relationship. A loving attitude may point someone to Jesus.

Remember this: Love is not merely something we feel. Love is something we choose.

So today, choose patience. Choose kindness. Choose love.

And when you do, you will reflect the heart of Christ to a world that desperately needs Him.
