What Do You Do When You Don’t Know What To Do?

James 1:5 (KJV) says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

What a comforting promise for every believer.

There are moments in life when we simply do not know what to do. We face decisions about our family, our finances, our future, our health, or our ministry, and the path forward is not always clear. We may feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and even afraid of making the wrong choice.

But James reminds us that God has not left us to figure life out on our own.

He says that if we lack wisdom, we can ask God. Not only can we ask Him, but He promises to give wisdom generously. God is not annoyed by your questions. He is not frustrated by your need for guidance. He welcomes you into His presence and invites you to seek His direction.

Think about that. The Creator of the universe is willing to guide your next step.

You may not have all the answers today, but you know the One who does. Before you make that decision, before you take that next step, before you give in to worry, spend time in prayer. Open God’s Word. Seek His wisdom.

Remember, God’s guidance is always better than our guesses.

So today, do not be discouraged by what you do not know. Instead, be encouraged by Who you know. Ask God for wisdom, trust His leadership, and walk forward in faith.

He promises that when you ask, He will provide exactly what you need.
