You Matter!

Have you not read this Scripture? “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”
—Mark 12:10

Sometimes life makes you feel like the reject pile at a yard sale—overlooked, misunderstood, and not quite what folks were lookin’ for. But let me remind you today: the very stone the builders tossed aside… God picked it up, dusted it off, and made it the cornerstone.

That’s the way of the Kingdom. God doesn’t use what the world thinks is perfect—He uses what’s surrendered. What folks walk past, God walks up to. What others throw out, God lifts up.

Jesus was rejected, and He became the foundation of our faith. So if you’re feelin’ rejected, broken, or set aside, don’t lose heart. God’s still buildin’. And you just might be the piece He’s been waitin’ on to complete His masterpiece.

You matter. You belong. And in the hands of the Master Builder, your life has purpose beyond your pain. So hold your head high today—not because of who you are, but because of Whose you are.

The cornerstone was once rejected, too.

Grateful Praise!

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” — Psalm 100:4

Some mornings, it’s just hard to get going. The coffee isn’t strong enough, the sky’s too gray, and the world feels a little too heavy.

But Psalm 100:4 gives us a divine prescription: Thanksgiving and praise. Not because life is perfect, but because God is.

You don’t need a golden ticket to get into the presence of God—just a grateful heart and a mouth full of praise.

It’s like stepping through the front door of Heaven with a song on your lips and joy in your soul, even if your shoes are muddy from the mess you’re walking through.

So today, take a deep breath. Thank Him for breath in your lungs, food on your table, grace that’s fresh every morning, and love that won’t let go. Praise Him not just for what He’s done, but for who He is—good, faithful, and always near.

When you shift your focus from what’s wrong to Who’s right, everything changes. The gates open, the courts welcome you in, and suddenly the heaviness lifts. That’s the power of praise. That’s the beauty of thanksgiving. That’s the heart of worship.

Walk through those gates today, my friend. You have every reason to praise.

A Smoke as Bold as a Midnight Sky!

There are cigars that whisper, cigars that muse, and cigars that roar like a storm rolling over the Gulf on a summer night. The Drew Estate Blackened M81 Maduro does not ask permission. It announces itself like the first chord of a blues riff played on a whiskey-stained Gibson.

From the moment I laid eyes on its obsidian wrapper, I knew this was not a smoke for the faint of heart. The Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro leaf, dark and brooding, carried the kind of weight only time and patience can give. I ran my fingers along the smooth, slightly toothy surface, feeling the promise of a slow burn and a long evening of contemplation.

I cut it clean, drew in a cold pull—rich espresso, aged leather, a whisper of molasses—and then set flame to leaf. The first draw was a deep bass note, heavy with dark chocolate and black pepper, rolling thick and unashamed over the tongue. A lesser man might have staggered, but I simply smiled, letting the smoke curl around me like the warm embrace of an old friend who tells you the truth, whether you like it or not.

The middle opened up, a dance of smoked oak and espresso, the kind of flavor that lingers in a blues club long after the last note fades. There was a depth here, a story layered in the tobacco, each leaf whispering of the soil and sun from which it came.

By the final third, the Blackened M81 had settled into its own legend—a bold, smoky finish that did not apologize for its strength. It left behind the memory of black coffee at midnight, of long roads traveled with no map but instinct, and of the kind of honesty that only fire and leaf can bring.

This is not a cigar for those who prefer the light and the easy. It is for those who embrace the darkness, who find beauty in the depths, who know that life—like a great cigar—is best savored slowly, with appreciation for every note and nuance.

Smoke it when the night is still and your thoughts are loud. Smoke it when you need to remember who you are.
