“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” -1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

Friend, one of the enemy’s greatest lies is to convince you that you’re the only one facing the struggle you’re in. He whispers, “No one understands. You’ll never overcome this.”

But God says something completely different.

Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that every temptation and every struggle we face is common to mankind. Others have walked this road before us, and by God’s grace, they made it through. More importantly, God is faithful.

Notice the promise isn’t that life will always be easy. The promise is that God will always be present. He knows your limits better than you do, and He promises to provide a way of escape before temptation ever becomes your defeat.

Sometimes that escape is the courage to walk away. Sometimes it’s the wisdom to make a phone call. Sometimes it’s the strength to open your Bible instead of giving in. Whatever the situation, God has already prepared the way—you simply have to choose it.

If you’re battling something today, don’t believe the lie that you’re trapped. Through Christ, you are never without hope, and you are never without help.

Take the next right step. Trust the faithfulness of God. He has not abandoned you, and He will give you the strength you need for today.
