Friend, one of God’s greatest gifts is the blessing of faithful relationships. Proverbs 17:17 reminds us, “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
Notice those three simple words: at all times. It’s easy for people to stand beside us when life is going well. It’s easy to cheer when the sun is shining. But true friendship shows up when the storm clouds gather. Real friends don’t disappear when life gets difficult. They pray with you, encourage you, and remind you that you don’t have to walk through the valley alone.
The wonderful news is that Jesus is the greatest Friend you’ll ever have. He doesn’t leave when you fail. He doesn’t walk away when you’re hurting. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us that He has promised, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Maybe today you’re carrying a burden that no one else knows about. Perhaps you’re wondering if anyone truly understands what you’re facing. Remember this: the Lord is with you. He sees every tear, hears every prayer, and walks every step beside you. And often, He sends faithful people into our lives to be His hands and His heart.
Today, thank God for the friends who have stood by you through the hard seasons. Then ask yourself this question: Who can I encourage today? Sometimes the greatest gift you can give is simply being present for someone who needs to know they are not alone.
Let’s be the kind of friend who loves at all times, because that’s exactly how Jesus has loved us.
