The Blank Canvas Of A Day!

Image
You Can Do This!

I love how a new day is almost like a clean slate, a blank canvas just waiting to have some brush strokes added.  At the beginning of the day, I am excited about the potential and possibilities that stretch out in front of me and then all of a sudden, I find myself in a hurry and the next thing I know I am halfway through the morning of my brand new day.  It does not take long for something to go wrong, not at all what I had planned and my beautiful blank canvas, rather than being a work of art, has turned into a big ole mess.

What do we do with days like this?  The truth is:  Most days are like this.  And on these messy days, there is really only one thing we can do.  We need to trust in our Creator, Who gave us our days to begin with.  Trusting in Him, allows us to be filled with peace that flows from some where deep within us.  This inner calm is a gift that assures us that regardless of what happens today, our Creator has a plan, because that is what Creator’s do.

You do not have to let a messy day distract you from the gift of peace that Your Creator has breathed into your life.  Don’t let what is going on around you in this world cause you to be shaken, because you are not of this world.  You, “who you really are”, your inner most being is rooted and established in Eternity.

When the stress of living begins to catch up with you, simply decide that you are going to use your supernatural power to detach yourself from these distractions.  Don’t waste your limited human energy on trying to maintain order and control of the chaos.  Instead, take a deep breath, relax and remember the peace of your Creator that resides within you.

Look within and see the face of love and open your mind to hear the things of the Spirit.  You will find that this enables you to see with more than physical eyes.  And with this spiritual insight, you will begin to see things from a high and holy perspective, which will further grow this great gift of peace.

When it is all said and done, you will look back at what used to be a blank canvas and discover that the Master has helped you to turn your day into a MASTERPIECE!

A Work Of Art!

A Work In His Hands!

What would happen if you really believed that God created you to be His witness, so that you could change this world for His glory?  Would that change the way you live, the things you say and the things you do?  You bet it would and it does!

We are ordinary and this is what allows God to be extraordinary in and through us.  There are social needs all around us crying out for a touch of the supernatural.  There are growing spiritual needs that challenge all of us to be and do more of what we were created for.

God is our Creator and we are His work of art!  God takes what is ordinary, lifeless and often ugly and does what only He can do – turn us into something extraordinary, alive and beautiful.

God is into raising eyebrows and opening people’s mouths.  God is into taking hopeless and turning it into hopeful.  God is into chasing away the darkness with the bright light of His presence.  God is into making death come crashing out of the grave alive and well.

When God steps into our lives, despair, darkness and depression must step out!  What looks like the end to most people, is really just another beginning with God.  You are more than just a work of art, you are a masterpiece.  Stop living in the limitations of man and start living in the grand expectations of Almighty God!

Isaiah 64:8 says: “Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”

Lord,  You created me, formed me from nothing into something.  You redeemed me, took my life of no value and gave it value beyond comprehension.  You took what was dead and made it alive.  Please help me to see, understand, believe and realize that I was created in Christ to do good works that change this world that I live in for Your glory.  Help me to grab hold of what You created me for and to never let go.  May my life lived in submission to You, bring blessing to others and glory to You!

Need A Hot Pick Me Up?

Old School!

It’s the middle of the week, so I thought I would share a little pick me up.  Take all of your troubles and the challenges of life and lay them aside for just a few moments.  Now think about riding down the road on a cool night and out of the corner of your eye you see something orange, almost like a fire, but better.  It’s the “Hot Now” sign at Krispy Kreme.

You pull in and get a dozen of the hot, soft, moist pieces of heaven and head back out to your car to open the box and observe one of the most beautiful sights known to man – glazed perfection in a never-ending circle of sweetness.

Shades Of Gray!

Your mouth waters and before you know what you are doing, your hand has reached in grabbed and delivered a sensation that lasts only a few seconds, but that can be repeated at least three or four more times, before the guilt kicks in.

Who knew that soft, light and fluffy could be so good?  Vernon Rudolph did in July of 1937, when he rented a building in what is not historic old Salem in Winston-Salem, NC and began cooking the doughnuts using a secret yeast raised doughnut recipe that he purchased from a New Orleans French chef.  He cut a window in the side of the building and sold directly to the folks, who could smell what he was cooking.

Light From Above!

Now don’t you feel better?  The only thing that could possibly make you feel any better in this moment is to actually be enjoying a “hot now Krispy Kreme doughnut”. If just reading about it and looking at these pictures of the old Krispy Kreme doughnut sign that I took one day in Spartanburg, SC doesn’t do it, then I have two words for ya:  ROAD TRIP!
