What’s Really Holding You Back?

What if the thing holding you back is something you’ve never stopped to let God show you?

Good morning, my friend!

Psalm 139:23 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.”

Now, that takes courage! David didn’t say, “Lord, show me what’s wrong with everybody else.” He said, “Search ME.”

It’s easy to notice somebody else’s attitude while making excuses for our own. We can carry resentment and call it being careful. We can let fear make our decisions and call it being practical.

But my friend, God loves us enough to help us see what we’ve been missing.

This prayer invites God into the places we tend to keep closed. The disappointment we haven’t dealt with. The worry we keep rehearsing. The attitude that needs a little grace.

And here’s the encouragement: You can be honest with God. He already knows your heart, and you don’t have to clean it up before you come to Him. Bring Him what’s really there.

He can forgive what needs forgiving, heal what needs healing, and help you take the next faithful step.

So today, before you check your messages or make your plans, take a quiet moment and pray, “Lord, search my heart. Show me what needs to change, and give me the courage to respond.”

Then follow through. Offer that apology. Release that resentment. Trust Him with that worry.

My friend, let God work in your heart today, and let that work show up in the way you live!
