The Last Day Of Your Life!

The media would have us think everyone is freaking out over the coronavirus, which I simply don’t believe is true. I believe a handful of people have bought into the hysteria, but for the most part, the people I know, just continue to live their everyday lives and maybe wash their hands a little bit more. All this media negativity and the knee jerk reaction of professional organizations has got me to thinking…

There used to be a popular phrase plastered on buildings, stickers and used in quotes by motivational speakers. It said: ”Today is the first day of the rest of your life!” This is a pretty good thought to think and be challenged and encouraged by, but maybe a better way to think about it is: ”Today may be the last day of your life.” Everyday is a precious gift, which most of us tend to take for granted.

The scriptures are full of reminders that we have a limited amount of time in this human experience. James 4:14 says: ”Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”

I don’t have any idea how serious this coronavirus deal is, but I do know that we are not guaranteed tomorrow and we never have been, so really nothing has changed. My advice is to live today as of it may be your last day. If you love someone tell them, pull close and hug and kiss those who are dear to you. Forgive and let go of negativity. Do the things that matter, while there is still time to do those things. LIVE your life, that’s why you are here and that is what you were given this day to do.

The past is over, learn from it, let it go and move on. The future here on earth is not promised to any of us, so accept today as the present, open it up and enjoy it for all its worth and you will have nothing to fear.

Where Is God?

When I ask people the question: ”Where is God?” The answer almost always comes back the same: ”God is everywhere!” What most people fail to realize is that everywhere means right here and right now in this moment and space with me. Don’t miss the power of this amazing truth: God is here with you now, wherever you are and whatever you are going through.

Not only is God here, but God is also good. And God, who is good and here has got you, no matter where you may find yourself. You can live in the tranquility of peace, knowing that God is with you and that all that He is and has are at your disposal.

”Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” -Psalms 139:7-12

Often times we search for God, looking in all the right places, but in all the wrong ways. We look inside of our heads, scanning our thoughts to see if God’s there. We dive into ourselves and get distracyed by the ego, which takes us on a rambling journey to nowhere. We search the world, examining our experiences, only to get caught up in comparison, which leaves us lost and confused.

We don’t have to go anywhere to find God, because God is here. We don’t have to do anything special to experience God, because God is love and love flows. There is nowhere I need to go and nothing I need to do to experience and know God as real. Just by opening myself to His presence and power, I am enabled to know and experience God’s supernatural and miraculous ways.

This is my promise of protection: God is present, His love is real and I am at peace.
