There Is No Peace Without Forgiveness!

Several years ago, I can remember sitting on the front steps of our home and thinking: “All I really want is peace!” You can have a nice home, fancy cars, stylish clothes, cool toys, be surrounded by friends and have what you call meaningful relationships, but if you don’t have peace, it is really all just a waste. I set out on a journey that day to find it for myself and through a series of valley and mountain top experiences, I can finally say I am closer than I’ve ever been.

The key to peace is forgiveness. We cannot have peace without forgiveness. We have to forgive others and we also have to forgive ourselves. The Scriptures teach us that God, our Creator forgives us for our sins and failures. And yet even with this amazing truth in our head, it has no real power until we believe it and accept it into our heart. We are forgiven, but we must accept the forgiveness in order for it to have any real impact upon our life and spirit.

And if God in His perfection can forgive our imperfection, then we should be able to forgive ourselves and others. To not forgive others only hurts us and keeps us in a prison of our own making. Some people say: “Well, I’ll forgive the when they ask me to forgive them!” And the problem with that, is that they may never ask. You have the power to forgive, let go and move forward without their asking. Just do it, because that is what God has done for you.

Now let’s think for a moment about forgiving ourselves, which is actually probably one of the hardest things for us to do. We think I am not worthy, I could never deserve it and make up a thousand other excuses, but the truth is we think we know better than God. If God has forgiven us, then who do we think we are to not forgive ourselves???

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. -1 John 1:9

Remember: There is no peace with out forgiveness. Forgiveness is key to our experiencing the gift of peace. The God of love created us in love and for love and our mistakes do not un-create the love in which we were created. It is true, we make mistakes, commit sin and miss the mark, but when we accept God gift of grace and mercy, His love releases from the consequences of our indiscretion and into the amazing gift of His peace.

Delight In The Sunlight!

Some say the sun is our best source of vitamin D. The way it works is when our skin is exposed to sunlight, the sun’s ultraviolet rays interact with the cholesterol in our skin cells and provide energy so that vitamin D synthesis can occur. This process is essential to good health and vital living. Vitamin D in our system helps with the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of our living the blessed life.

The sun comes from our Creator, who gave us our bodies as a gift for our spirit to experience this human existence of growth and learning. This life in the flesh gives us opportunity to live in what would appear to be time and space. This slowing down process allows us to observe, listen, learn and grow from our successes as well as our failures.

Today as I stood outside, looking up at the beautiful blue sky, I could feel the warmth of the sunshine on my face and it was a beautiful reminder of the life giving grace of God. Just as the sun rejuvenates my physical body, the light of God rejuvenates my spirit by blessing me with undeserved gifts and blessings.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” -James 1:17

We all experience times of darkness, times when depression sets in and confusion reigns supreme. During those times, we must look to the light and open ourselves to its miraculous life giving power, which infuses us with supernatural strength, so that we might overcome the obstacles of the flesh and grow into our great big unlimited spirit.

Give yourself to God’s love and light and you will be amazed at how you overcome the chaos of fear and chase away the darkness of doubt and depression. Ask God to open the eyes of your heart, so that you might look to the heavenly son-light that cleanses, empowers and frees you for all you were created for…

Becoming Powerful!

Breath Is Life! Have you ever stopped to think about what an amazing thing BREATHING is? I mean if our breathing stops, then life as we know it stops. Breath is the evidence of an external force and supernatural source at work in, on and through us. A force and source which allows us to live, grow and experience the miraculous from the inside – out.

Notice Your Breath! Take a moment to pay attention to your breath. Inhale a deep breath and hold it for a moment, now as you exhale, think about and realize the reality of the power of breath. Isn’t it amazing! We don’t have to remind ourselves to do it. We just naturally breath in and out all day and all night long, asleep or awake. Breathing is an awesome gift from our Creator, a gift that keeps giving in so many different ways.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” -Genesis 2:7

When we take the time to become aware of our breath, we are almost immediately reminded of God’s love. Breath is His gift of life to us, which enables us as spiritual beings to enjoy, learn and grow from this human experience. I breathe in God’s love, His endless love, miracles and blessings flow into my life and empower me to remember who I am. I am a child of the Most High God, the Creator of everything and the sustainer of all life. From within and all around me, I find spiritual nourishment from my connection with the divine.

Open up your heart, mind and spirit today. Pay attention to who and what you really are. Not a human being, but a spiritual being, empowered by the supernatural power of the One who created you. Breathe in God’s love, grace and mercy and breathe out love, grace and mercy to others. This participation with divinity is our super power to transform lives and change this world we live in.
