The Battle Worth Fighting!

One of the things I am continually having to remind myself of is the reality that I am not a human being looking for a spiritual experience, but a spiritual being getting to have a human experience. While it is true that I live in the flesh and it has it’s limitations, the me that is living in the flesh is spirit and is limitless in time and space.

I sometime get caught up in living as if my spirit is the servant to my flesh and this is just not true, in fact, this is backwards and the reason that so many of us are frustrated, discouraged and often living defeated. This is the battle that really matters and the one that we need to make sure we are giving our attention and energy to.

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.” -Galatians 5:16-18

When we finally begin to realize who we are and what we are created to be, it opens up a whole brand new universe filled with possibilities of blessing, growth and miracles. When I make the decision to live under the spiritual principles of the universe rather than the limited physical laws of the flesh, then a very amazing thing happens – I really begin to live, grow and thrive according to my created purpose. This brings a fulfillment and satisfaction like nothing else can, because in the SPIRIT, there is abundant blessing, unlimited opportunity and a never ending supply of love, light and peace.

When I finally remember that I am SPIRIT, I tap into who and what I really am and all the supernatural power that comes with it. Living at my true place of being, raises me above the limits of this physical world and opens up beautiful and breathtaking opportunity to bless and be blessed, which is what we were created for. This is the battle worth fighting…

Like What You See?

Do you like what you see? Take a good, honest look at your life and the answer might surprise you, because it may be that you do like what you see and you didn’t think you were going to, or it may be that you do not like what you see and you thought you were going to love it. Most likely you will find yourself some where in between, with some things you love, some things you hate and some things some where in between.

I have found that the great majority of us, just sorta tend to tolerate life. We have moments we love and moments we hate, but most of us end up living the majority of our lives in the “blahs”, stuck somewhere in between love and hate. On some level, we know we were created for more, but we are just too tired to even try to think our way through it.

Every now and then though, something comes along and moves us out of our comfort zone to the place that we can’t help but take a moment or two to imagine what our life might look life if we were really living it the way we sometimes catch ourselves dreaming. We think about the person we could be, should be and would be, if???

Have you ever caught a glimpse of yourself, when you had it all together? Have you ever seen the “put together” you, full of energy, great ideas and experiencing the miraculous in all directions? When we see it, we believe it and for just a moment want it, but then life wakes us up and we go right back to thinking about what might have been?

Could I suggest a different way to look at life? Could I maybe point out another possibility of how we can possibly see things? Rather than thinking about would’ve, could’ve and should’ve – how about we see ourselves as God our Creator sees us?

In Ephesians 1:3-4 it says: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.”

God sees us from beginning to end and from end to beginning! God sees the total picture of all that we’ve been through, survived and grown from. If you are still living, then you are still a work in progress, so don’t you dare give up and don’t for one moment entertain the thought of giving in, because God has great big amazing plans for you! See it, believe it, live it – you’ll be glad you did!

Surronded By Craziness!

We are surrounded by craziness! Look to your right, left, behind or in front and what do you see? Crazy, right? This is not really anything new, because we have always been surrounded by crazy, it’s just that now a days, this is a different kind of crazy and everyone has a totally different opinion about what their crazy looks like.

It is very easy to get caught up in the drama of the world and forget what is really important. What really matters is not all the crazy, but that even in the midst of craziness, chaos and confusion, there is still a God and God is in control. I actually sometimes think God allows the crazy confusion of chaos to help us see the sane, stable, intentional, purpose and plan of the ONE who brought us to the dance…

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” -Hebrews 11:1

No matter how crazy this world gets, I can always retreat into the peace of God, which is always there waiting on me to come to my good senses. In this place of peace, I realize and am reminded that I am a spiritual being getting to have a human experience and this human experience, while often challenged is still a very amazing and wonderful gift that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

In this place of peace, I am reminded who I am and whose I am. This is the game changer, because as soon as this truth comes into my heart and mind, I am free to be me in all of my weird uniqueness and all for God’s glory. It does not matter what the world says, I am loved and I am love and love chases away fear, so I do not have anything to be afraid of, worried about or concerned for.

Every need or lack I could ever experience has already been provided for. Every challenge of conflict I will ever face has already been overcome. God is love and so I have everything I could ever need and then some. Regardless of the circumstances, miracles are not just a possibility, but alaways a reality for the child of God who believes and I choose to believe and live in the power of the miraculous, even in the midst of craziness…
