Enjoy The Game!

If life were a football game, then I would guess I am some where between half-time and third quarter. It’s hard to believe that the first half of my life is over with, gone and cannot be relived, but it is and I have to say: I have learned much and realize more clearly than ever before that there is still so much left for me to learn.

There is a lot that we can understand about life, but then there is also a lot that is a mystery. There are some things we are supposed to figure out and learn from and other things that we just need to allow to unfold at their own pace and pleasure.

I like the idea of just allowing things to unfold, because it takes a lot of self imposed pressure off. I don’t have to try so hard to make things work, I just need to get out of the way, enjoy the journey, watch and learn as life does it’s thing.

Not everything is about toil and hard work, sometimes it’s about working smarter, not harder. Who says we have to understand everything? Why do we feel like we have to explain everything away? Why can’t we just be content with saying: “I don’t know???”

Live life long enough and your expectations will be shattered and you will discover that it everything is still going to be okay, because our expectations are often very unreal anyway. We would do well to practice the art of “ALLOWING”. Allow life to be what life is going to be. Stop trying to manipulate, calculate and subjugate life into what you think it should be and simply learn to enjoy allowing life to be whatever it is going to be.

Learn the joy of sitting back and observing life and it’s beauty as it unfolds like a flower revealing the secrets it has hidden away some where deep inside of itself. Shut up, judge less and listen, really listen and you will be amazed at how your mind will open up and allow your heart to be touched by the mystery of life and living…

The Fine Line Between Arrogance And Humility!

Arrogance is such an ugly word and it is an even uglier attitude. I am ashamed to say that I have allowed this word to become my reality far too many times in my life and living. It is one of those things that can creep up on you before you even realize it’s there. Arrogance puts you in a place of looking down on others even when you are beneath them. It is a very unrealistic view of self and others that causes us to elevate self and lower others.

Most would say that the opposite of arrogance is humility, but we have to be careful with that one, because it is way too easy to have a humility that is fake, counterfeit and not real, which is an even greater form of arrogance.

Philippians 2:3-4 “3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

The reality is that we are all the creation of God and God has given each of us our own unique gifts, talents and blessings. God’s love, grace and power flow into each of our lives and as we learn to live in humility, it flows through our lives to others and brings us a fulfillment like nothing else can.

We have to be very careful not to become arrogant and think of ourselves, better, smarter or more valuable than others. We also have to be careful not to get caught up in a fake humility that does not take into account the value that God in us, places on each one of us. Either extreme is dangerous and keeps us from experiencing the miraculous power we were created in and for.

Take some time today to think about who you are in God as you think about God in you. Also take time to recognize who others are in God and honor God in them. There is a fine line between humility and arrogance and on that line we discover purpose, power and peace…

What Do You Want?

There is a pretty simple question we have to ask and answer, if we really want to experience the blessings we were created for. WHAT DO YOU WANT? It is surprising to me, how many people have not taken the time to really answer this question. Looking back on my own life, it is humbling to think about how many times I have failed to ask and answer this simple, but powerful question.

There is great power in INTENTION, but to figure out our intention we have to ask and answer the right questions and then follow up with action. We need to ask and answer the “What Do You Want” question everyday and often, multiple times throughout the day. There are a lot of different varieties of the question, but they are basically asking for the same thing. What do you want? What is your dream? What is the main desire of your life? What will make you happy? What is your intention? What inspires you? What are you passionate about? What do you want to create, manifest and make reality in your life?

This question is important, because it drives our thoughts and THOUGHTS ARE THINGS! The things we think about become our reality. The Scriptures teach that we were created in the image of our Creator, which means: WE WERE CREATED TO CREATE! The question is: “What Are You Creating?”

There are two worlds, one we can see and one we can’t see. One is physical and one is spiritual. We live in between these two worlds in what is a beautiful dance of co-existence of back and forth between the two. We are spiritual beings living our human experience in a physical body. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1 – “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This means that what is seen, begins it’s manifestation in what is unseen. We live in both places and in between and this is why asking and answering questions is so important and necessary.

Take some time today to ask and answer the question: WHAT DO I WANT? And think about the steps you can take to manifest and make reality what simply begins as a thought. You may just be surprised at the power you discover that has been placed within yourself to do the supernatural. And once you discover and tap into this CREATIVE power, this human experience takes on a whole new meaning as you begin to live in the blessings you were created for…
