The Jouney!

I’ve been thinking about the idea that there are no mistakes! There is no such thing as coincidence. Things that happen in our life are not random, no matter how much they may seem so. There is purpose to everything, which is a hard pill for us to swallow, because it’s just easier for us to believe that things happen for no reason at all, which we accept, because most of us are too lazy to invest the time to think things through from the perspective of our spirit.

We are travelling along a path, on a spiritual journey, where we get to live moment by moment, seeking to grow to the highest version of ourself. When we learn to loosen up, just live and enjoy ourselves, we begin to live in the ebb and flow of the spirit, which allows us to experience the perfection we were created for.

Robert Frost said: ”Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.”

We have a choice and our every choice has a consequence. Often we live our lives without giving any thought to our choices and the consequences tied to them. Our ego encourages us to ignore the obvious if it doesn’t fit our preconceived notions and ideas. But our choices do have consequences and sometimes the consequences are more than we are willing to live with, but the truth is: living with the hard, difficult and challenging does a work in us and through us that nothing else can accomplish.

”Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” -James 1:2-4

What we discover on the path of life is that Heaven comes to earth through the challenges, frustrations and disappointments of life. There are no accidents, everything has a purpose and every step we take along the journey is our master teacher, offering us wisdom to grow so that we may be pure, complete and lacking nothing…

Breaking Free Of The Jaded Life!

Live in this world long enough and at some point you are going to find yourself disenchanted and jaded by the sacrifices you’ve made, which have required you to forfeit the tenderness you were created in. This does not take away from the amazingness of this world, but it does cause us to miss out, because we are not tuned in and aligned in body, mind and spirit.

Living the jaded life leads us to become mean, cynical and sarcastic, which keeps us from living in the power of supernatural blessing. Most of us that get trapped in the jaded life style do not have or make time for reflection and instead get caught up, distracted and sent in the wrong direction by judging others, becoming overly critical and toxic in our negativity.

This is not a place or way we would normally choose to live our life, but once we get on the proverbial ”rat wheel”, it is very challenging to get off. At some point we get tired of it all, give up and become stuck or we become motivated to change things no matter what.

”Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.” -Isaiah 40:28

Here’s the beautiful and amazing truth: We don’t have to learn anything new to break free of the jaded life, we simply have to believe, claim and live in the power of truths already revealed by God to us. Faith makes all things possible and the best way to grow our faith is to return to what we already know and trust, believe and have faith.

There is a door that leads to freedom from the jaded lifestyle and that door is unlocked with the key called faith. Unlock that door with your belief and watch the miraculous freedom flow from Heaven into and through your life and living…

Change The Question!

Who am I? That’s a great question and just as soon as I start to answer it, I change and become someone else. I mean think about it – for whatever lifetime you have lived in this human experience, you have lived in an ever changing, continually developing body.

I began this experience with the body of a chubby and if I do say so myself, adorable baby boy. A little later on, I occupied a thin as a rail, blonde hair, blue eyed, big smiling little boy. A little boy who possessed a unique ability to get into stuff a lot quicker than I could get out of it. I eventually developed into a teenager and had an appetite that could never seem to be satisfied, which contributed to a ever changing body. From there I became a young man that always seemed to be engaged it the battle of trying to take off a few pounds. Now a days I am what many would consider middle aged and my body, well, let’s just say it has decided that it will speak for itself.

We spend most of our lives associating who we are with how we look and the great tragedy here is that the old saying is true: “You can’t judge a book by it’s cover!” About the time, we start to get comfortable in one form of our body, another one comes along and takes it’s place and it seems the process begins all over again.

Who am I? Well before I can even try to answer that question, I have to realize and accept that I am not my body, because my body is continually, moment by moment, daily changing. Here’s the really interesting thing: We can let our body shape us or we can shape our body! And which way do you think this is supposed to work? The Bible puts it this way in Ephesians 2:10 ”For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

I am learning to just be me, whatever body I am occupying. I told a friend the other day “I am 51 years old, but I feel like I am 25 -30 years old. In my mind, I think like a 30 year old, not like a 50 year old. I remember when I used to think 50 was old, but not now.

So, if I am not my body, then who am I? The “I” that you are looking for is who you really are. It’s who you were created to be. It’s the you that you live with 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The “I” you are looking for is still becoming. Our problem is that we are looking for a completed product and we can’t find it, because we are still in process.

And so here is the good news today – if you can’t find yourself, it means that you are a work in progress. You are still becoming and so the question needs to change from “Who am I?” to “Who do I want to be?” The simple changing of the question is a game changer that sets your focus in the right direction and aligns your life for blessing.

And so I ask you: WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE? the choice truly is yours…
