Proverbs 16:9 (KJV) says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”

Have you ever had a plan that did not work out the way you thought it would?

You had the timing figured out. You knew where you wanted to go. You could almost see how everything was supposed to come together.

Then life took a turn you never expected.

My friend, a change in your plans does not mean God has lost control.

Proverbs reminds us that we can make plans, dream dreams, and set goals, but ultimately, God directs our steps.

Sometimes He opens a door.

Sometimes He closes one.

Sometimes He says, “Go.”

Sometimes He says, “Wait.”

And sometimes He takes us down a road we never would have chosen because He knows there is something along that road we need to see, learn, or become.

Looking back over my life, some of the greatest blessings have come through things that were never part of my original plan.

That is why faith is more than asking God to bless the road we have chosen.

Faith is trusting God enough to let Him choose the road.

You may not understand where God is leading you right now. You may even be disappointed because something you planned has fallen apart.

But do not confuse a detour with a dead end.

Keep praying.

Keep trusting.

Keep taking the next faithful step.

You do not have to know the whole route when you know the One directing your steps.

And someday you may look back and realize that the road you never planned to travel took you exactly where God knew you needed to be.

Have you ever noticed how much time we can spend living somewhere God never intended us to live?

We live in yesterday, replaying what we did wrong. Then we live in tomorrow, worrying about what might go wrong.

I came across a quote that says:

“No amount of guilt can solve the past. No amount of anxiety can change the future.”

Friend, that’ll preach!

Guilt keeps saying, “If only I could go back.”

Anxiety keeps asking, “What if something goes wrong?”

But faith says, “God was with me then, God is with me now, and God will be with me tomorrow.”

Philippians 3:13 says, “forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”

You cannot change yesterday, but you can learn from it. You cannot control tomorrow, but you can trust God with it.

If you’ve sinned, confess it, receive God’s forgiveness, learn from it, and move forward.

And if you’re worried about tomorrow, remember what Jesus said in Matthew 6:34: “Take therefore no thought for the morrow.”

God has already given you grace for what is behind you, and He will give you grace for whatever is ahead of you.

So quit allowing yesterday’s guilt to steal today’s joy, and don’t let tomorrow’s worries rob you of today’s peace.

Yesterday is in God’s mercy.

Tomorrow is in God’s hands.

And today is a gift from God.

So live it. Love people. Trust Jesus. And keep moving forward.

The God who carried you yesterday is holding you today, and He’ll already be there when you arrive tomorrow.

Psalm 46:1 (KJV) says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Good morning, my friend.

Trouble has a way of making you feel alone. It can convince you that nobody understands, nobody sees, and nobody is close enough to help.

But this verse reminds us that when trouble comes, God does not step away. He draws near.

God is our refuge. That means when the storms begin to rage, we have somewhere safe to run. We do not have to pretend that we are strong. We can bring our fears, our questions, and even our tears to Him.

God is our strength. He may not remove every burden immediately, but He will give you the strength you need for today. The strength that has run out in you has never run out in Him.

And He is a very present help.

He is not distant.

He is not distracted.

He is not late.

He is with you in the doctor’s office, at the kitchen table, through the lonely night, and in the uncertain tomorrow.

Whatever you are facing today, do not let trouble convince you that God has forgotten you. The presence of trouble is not proof of God’s absence. It may become the very place where you discover His nearness more deeply.

Take a breath, my friend.

Run to your refuge.

Lean on His strength.

Call upon His name.

God is here, and He is more than enough.
