The Fine Line Between Arrogance And Humility!

Arrogance is such an ugly word and it is an even uglier attitude. I am ashamed to say that I have allowed this word to become my reality far too many times in my life and living. It is one of those things that can creep up on you before you even realize it’s there. Arrogance puts you in a place of looking down on others even when you are beneath them. It is a very unrealistic view of self and others that causes us to elevate self and lower others.

Most would say that the opposite of arrogance is humility, but we have to be careful with that one, because it is way too easy to have a humility that is fake, counterfeit and not real, which is an even greater form of arrogance.

Philippians 2:3-4 “3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

The reality is that we are all the creation of God and God has given each of us our own unique gifts, talents and blessings. God’s love, grace and power flow into each of our lives and as we learn to live in humility, it flows through our lives to others and brings us a fulfillment like nothing else can.

We have to be very careful not to become arrogant and think of ourselves, better, smarter or more valuable than others. We also have to be careful not to get caught up in a fake humility that does not take into account the value that God in us, places on each one of us. Either extreme is dangerous and keeps us from experiencing the miraculous power we were created in and for.

Take some time today to think about who you are in God as you think about God in you. Also take time to recognize who others are in God and honor God in them. There is a fine line between humility and arrogance and on that line we discover purpose, power and peace…

Peace Of Mind!

The mind is a very powerful thing. With our mind, we can make or break life. We can give into the limits of the flesh or tap into the unlimited power of our Creator. This is very often a battle we find ourself engaged in and rather than fight our way through it, any times we just give up with the attitude that “this is just life!”

But, it’s not just life, unless we choose for it to be. We have the power, if we are willing to utilize it. We will either control our mind or our mind will control us. When our mind connects with it’s Creator, we have the potential to be positive, creative and intuitive, which leads to our growing and being a blessing.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. -Colossians 3:2

By allowing our mind to connect with Spirit, we are making a choice to not give up control, but to take control back with God’s help to make our mind and His mind one. To set our mind is to make a choice in the direction that we are going to allow it to be empowered.

God is love and when m mind becomes love, I am invited to be a co-creator with the great “I AM” and I am destined for breakthroughs, miracles and blessings as I learn to walk with confidence through God’s mercy, grace and love. This is a beautiful thing!

When we allow our ind to connect and yield to God’s Spirit, we are able to take on and take out the wrong, self defeating and limiting thoughts of this world we live in. Our mind can be a worst enemy or a best friend. When we train our I’d to see, understand and act as our Creator, the dimension of the miraculous opens up and the unexplainable begins to manifest in incredible and breath taking ways.

Set your mind on things above, you will be glad you did!

Dealing With A Wild And Crazy Mind!

I used to love to watch and listen to Steve Martin do his “Wild & Crazy Guy” routine and it was very wild and very crazy. I think I loved it so much, because that is exactly how my mind tends to work. My mind tends to be wild and crazy with thoughts thousands of thoughts bouncing around in thousands of different directions. Can you relate?

It’s taken me at least half of a life time to learn that it does not have to be that way. I have the power at any given time, whenever I choose to direct my thoughts and control my mind. And when I choose to do this apart from my ego and yielded to spirit, the supernatural takes place and amazing things begin to manifest into my life.

Another word to describe my wild and crazy mind is chaos. And when chaos is present, peace has usually been sent packing. In order to get a mind of peace, I must deal with chaos and to deal with chaos, I must redirect my mind away from wild and crazy into the direction of love. The God mind is a mind of love, because God is love.

To redirect my mind to love is to make the choice to surrender my thoughts to God, to allow God to take my mind into His loving hands and reshape it into what it was originally supposed to be, before the chaos of sin got a hold of it.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. -Colossians 3:2

The key to getting rid of the wild and crazy thoughts of chaos that are running rampant all over the place is to set/focus/direct your mind on things above – the stuff of God, which is love. To set your mind on things above, you have to take your mind off of things here below – the earthly stuff that causes chaos and confusion.

It begins with a choice! You have to get tired of the way that is not working to find the motivation and discipline to do something about it and stick with it. This is why we go to love and not just any love, but the supernatural love of God, because it empowers us from the inside to make real life changes on the outside that enable us to live the blessed life we were created for.

So be a wild and crazy guy or gal if you want to and have fun with that, but don’t give up your mind. Keep it in God’s hands and under your control and you will be amazed at just how wild and crazy in a good way, this life here on earth can be!
