Today Is Your Best Day!

Today Is Your Best Day! That’s right, today, not yesterday and not tomorrow. Today, because today is what you’ve got. So many of us miss the blessing of the moment because we are either stuck in the past or worried about the future. Today is what you’ve got, so enjoy today as your best day.

Today Is Your Best Day, Because You Are Here! Right now in this very moment you exist and have opportunity to make this moment whatever you want it to be. If you want it to be happy, it will be happy. If you want it to be sad, it will be sad. This moment is your opportunity to follow the example of your Creator and “create” whatever it is that you desire.

Today Is Your Best Day, Because Yesterday Is Over! Yesterday has already been lived and you cannot live yesterday again. Hopefully, you learned whatever it was that yesterday was trying to teach you, so that you can grow on. Don’t get stuck on yesterday, because it can cause you to miss and waste today and today is your best day.

Today Is Your Best Day, Because God Is Using Today To Prepare You! God is using today to prepare you for whatever it is that He has in store for you and it is always something amazing. Yesterday is the past, tomorrow is the future and today is the present, so accept it as the GIFT that it is and make it your best day yet.

Coorie ten Boom used to say: “God doesn’t have problems, He has plans!” And today is your best day, because whatever comes your way, it’s not a problem, it is just a part of God’s plan to grow you into the kinda of person that makes every day their best day… 🙏🏻

Enjoy The Game!

If life were a football game, then I would guess I am some where between half-time and third quarter. It’s hard to believe that the first half of my life is over with, gone and cannot be relived, but it is and I have to say: I have learned much and realize more clearly than ever before that there is still so much left for me to learn.

There is a lot that we can understand about life, but then there is also a lot that is a mystery. There are some things we are supposed to figure out and learn from and other things that we just need to allow to unfold at their own pace and pleasure.

I like the idea of just allowing things to unfold, because it takes a lot of self imposed pressure off. I don’t have to try so hard to make things work, I just need to get out of the way, enjoy the journey, watch and learn as life does it’s thing.

Not everything is about toil and hard work, sometimes it’s about working smarter, not harder. Who says we have to understand everything? Why do we feel like we have to explain everything away? Why can’t we just be content with saying: “I don’t know???”

Live life long enough and your expectations will be shattered and you will discover that it everything is still going to be okay, because our expectations are often very unreal anyway. We would do well to practice the art of “ALLOWING”. Allow life to be what life is going to be. Stop trying to manipulate, calculate and subjugate life into what you think it should be and simply learn to enjoy allowing life to be whatever it is going to be.

Learn the joy of sitting back and observing life and it’s beauty as it unfolds like a flower revealing the secrets it has hidden away some where deep inside of itself. Shut up, judge less and listen, really listen and you will be amazed at how your mind will open up and allow your heart to be touched by the mystery of life and living…

When Life Squeezes!

Back when I was working with youth, one of the illustrations I loved to share with them was to take three tubes of tooth paste and challenge three of the teens to have a little race with the tubes of tooth paste, all they had to do was very carefully follow the directions as I gave them and the first one finished with all the tasks would be the winner. Task number one was to sqeeze as much of the tooth paste out of the tube as fast as possible. They immediatly went crazy, squeezing, grabbing, pushing, pulling, rolling, whatever they could come up with to try to gett every bit of the paste out of the tube.

Now for the second part of the challenge and the one that finishes first, will be considered the Grand Champion. Then I would instruct them to put all of the tooth paste back into the tube and immediatly they look at me as if I have lost my mind. Of course I have not lost my mind, I know they cannot put it back easily and that is the point.

I go onto explain that life has a tendency to apply pressure and it will untimately squeeze out of us, whatever we have inside of us and no matter how bad we may want to, it is almost impossible to get it put back inside, out of site and out of mind.

Luke 6:45 teaches us that: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

This is why protecting our heart from evil influence is so important. Life will squeeze you and whatever you have in you is going to come out, so it is best to make sure that we have the right stuff inside of us.

The Bottom Line: When we get our heart right, then we get our life right. A great way to start is by spending time with the Master, learning to think His thoughts and be empowered by His Spirit.

Ask yourself this question and ask God to help you to be honest with yourself and Him abouth the answere: “What’s in your heart???” 🙏🏻
