How To Overcome Your Identitiy Crises…

We are in this world, but not of this world. This is a very important fact to remember as we are living our lives and seeking to grow into all we were created for. Our failure to recognize that we are a part of Divinity, that we were created by and in the image of God, often causes us to miss out on utilizing the supernatural power that we have at our disposal and therefore live with struggles that should be our strengths.

We are eternal, spiritual beings with a soul. We were created in eternity and for eternity, a thought that we cannot even begin to wrap our little earthly thinking minds around. This world that we live in is temporal, it will not last forever. In fact, if you look around, you can see that it is sick and dying. We often become affected and infected with the same disease, but it does not have to be that way, because we are not of this world.

“Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.” -1 Peter 2:11

Our failure to understand and tap into our Divine heritage often causes us to get lost in confusion and misunderstanding, which leads to a life of aimless wandering from one frustration to another. We were created for so much more and so we need to know who we are, what we were created for and where we come from.

You are God’s creation. You were created to be blessed so you could bless and give glory to the One who created you. You come from the heart and mind of the Almighty. Let this knowledge inspire and motivate you to live the higher life you were created for and you will be amazed at how things begin to line up and change in your favor…

The Battle Worth Fighting!

One of the things I am continually having to remind myself of is the reality that I am not a human being looking for a spiritual experience, but a spiritual being getting to have a human experience. While it is true that I live in the flesh and it has it’s limitations, the me that is living in the flesh is spirit and is limitless in time and space.

I sometime get caught up in living as if my spirit is the servant to my flesh and this is just not true, in fact, this is backwards and the reason that so many of us are frustrated, discouraged and often living defeated. This is the battle that really matters and the one that we need to make sure we are giving our attention and energy to.

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.” -Galatians 5:16-18

When we finally begin to realize who we are and what we are created to be, it opens up a whole brand new universe filled with possibilities of blessing, growth and miracles. When I make the decision to live under the spiritual principles of the universe rather than the limited physical laws of the flesh, then a very amazing thing happens – I really begin to live, grow and thrive according to my created purpose. This brings a fulfillment and satisfaction like nothing else can, because in the SPIRIT, there is abundant blessing, unlimited opportunity and a never ending supply of love, light and peace.

When I finally remember that I am SPIRIT, I tap into who and what I really am and all the supernatural power that comes with it. Living at my true place of being, raises me above the limits of this physical world and opens up beautiful and breathtaking opportunity to bless and be blessed, which is what we were created for. This is the battle worth fighting…

The Fine Line Between Arrogance And Humility!

Arrogance is such an ugly word and it is an even uglier attitude. I am ashamed to say that I have allowed this word to become my reality far too many times in my life and living. It is one of those things that can creep up on you before you even realize it’s there. Arrogance puts you in a place of looking down on others even when you are beneath them. It is a very unrealistic view of self and others that causes us to elevate self and lower others.

Most would say that the opposite of arrogance is humility, but we have to be careful with that one, because it is way too easy to have a humility that is fake, counterfeit and not real, which is an even greater form of arrogance.

Philippians 2:3-4 “3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

The reality is that we are all the creation of God and God has given each of us our own unique gifts, talents and blessings. God’s love, grace and power flow into each of our lives and as we learn to live in humility, it flows through our lives to others and brings us a fulfillment like nothing else can.

We have to be very careful not to become arrogant and think of ourselves, better, smarter or more valuable than others. We also have to be careful not to get caught up in a fake humility that does not take into account the value that God in us, places on each one of us. Either extreme is dangerous and keeps us from experiencing the miraculous power we were created in and for.

Take some time today to think about who you are in God as you think about God in you. Also take time to recognize who others are in God and honor God in them. There is a fine line between humility and arrogance and on that line we discover purpose, power and peace…
