How To Overcome Your Identitiy Crises…

We are in this world, but not of this world. This is a very important fact to remember as we are living our lives and seeking to grow into all we were created for. Our failure to recognize that we are a part of Divinity, that we were created by and in the image of God, often causes us to miss out on utilizing the supernatural power that we have at our disposal and therefore live with struggles that should be our strengths.

We are eternal, spiritual beings with a soul. We were created in eternity and for eternity, a thought that we cannot even begin to wrap our little earthly thinking minds around. This world that we live in is temporal, it will not last forever. In fact, if you look around, you can see that it is sick and dying. We often become affected and infected with the same disease, but it does not have to be that way, because we are not of this world.

“Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.” -1 Peter 2:11

Our failure to understand and tap into our Divine heritage often causes us to get lost in confusion and misunderstanding, which leads to a life of aimless wandering from one frustration to another. We were created for so much more and so we need to know who we are, what we were created for and where we come from.

You are God’s creation. You were created to be blessed so you could bless and give glory to the One who created you. You come from the heart and mind of the Almighty. Let this knowledge inspire and motivate you to live the higher life you were created for and you will be amazed at how things begin to line up and change in your favor…

Choose The Voices You Listen To…

Do you hear voices? Of course you do, we all do. Some people learn to ignore the voices and some people can’t get the voices to shut up. You know what I’m talking about right? Those voices in your heard that tell you that you should or maybe you shouldn’t. Those voices that tell you that you are not good enough or maybe that you are too good. Those voices that remind you of your past mistakes, sins and failures.

I’ve come to relize that we have positive and negative voices inside of us, but most of us tend to turn up the volume on and listen to the negative over the positive. I’m not really sure why? Maybe it’s because we really are our own worst enemy, but we can turn that around and become our biggest cheerleader with a little bit of work and before long we can learn to listen to the positive voices over the negative and experience the life of blessing we were created for.

I have made more than my fair share of mistakes, committed more sins that I care to talk about and failed more times than I can count, but in almost all of those situations I have learned something about myself, so I do not see any of it as a waste. Instead, I choose to look at all of it as an education and with all my mistakes, sins and failures, I should be pretty close to a Doctor’s Degree!

“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” – 1 John 1:8

This learning from our mistakes, sins and failures is the first step in turining the volume down on the negative and up on the positive. I want to challenge you to think for a moment about where you have messed up, missed the mark and not measured up. Now – don’t get down on youself, instead ask yourself: “What can I learn from this mess?” Learn it and it will grow you. This is how we take lemons and make lemonade, because when we learn from our mistakes, sins and failures, it’s just like adding sugar. (SWEET!)

Learn the lesson life is trying to reach you as you grow to become all you were created for, because it’s what you were created for. This life is all about living and learning, so live, learn and grow on!

The Magic Of Reading, Writing And Thinking…

I love writing and I almost always have something to say, but a lot of times I don’t write, because I don’t feel like I am qualified to say anything to anyone about anything. I think most writers deal with this challenge, but the best, write anyway, so I am going to try to stick to it, no matter what my thoughts are telling me.

And that brings me to the second challenge of writing for me. I have so many different thoughts and so many different things that I think about writing about. And so, I’ve decided that I will grab one of those thoughts, jump in, take it for a spin and hopefully enjoy the ride.

I think this may be where we tend to mess up a lot of different things in our lives. We live with this thought that everything we do must have a purpose. We live a “results based life”, which says that if our efforts, whatever they are do not produce results, then we must be a failure. And this is simply one of life’s biggest lies…

While we were at the beach my daughter read a book and she talked about what she was reading all day. The book really hit home for her. She said that if she was going to write a book, then it would have been that book. I remember reading once that the most meaningful books are the ones that we read that speak right to where our life happens to be in that moment. There have been things I read that meant nothing to me, but then when I was going through something and read it again, years later – BAM! It hit and hit hard just exactly where it needed to.

So, what am I saying? I’m saying: Take time to read, write, think and dream, because you never know when you are going to be touched by magic or when you might touch someone with a little magic of your own…
