Purpose – Learning To Live According To The Creator’s Plan!

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”  ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Scriptures Teach Us That Purpose Is Vital To Living Life!  In Proverbs 29:18 it says:  “Where there is no vision (purpose), the people perish!”  Many people are alive, but they are not really living.  We tend to have all kinds of ideas and plans, but we don’t always do so much with them.  “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand!  -Proverbs 19:21  What really matters, is the purpose/plan that we were created by and for.  Our Creator created us on purpose and for a purpose as stated in Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  And when we live according to His purpose for us then, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” -Romans 8:28

The Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius said:  “Everything – a horse, a vine – is created for some duty…  For what task then, were you yourself created for?  A man’s true delight is to do the things he was made for.”

The Question then is this:  “What Is Your Purpose?”  I have discovered that I along with most other folks can make something up.  There is only a handful that have actually thought it through and are living the life they were created for.

When we ask and answer the question “What is my purpose?”, it changes our life for the better, by helping us to tap into God’s unlimited resources and divine potential.  You have to make a choice about what you want out of life and what you are willing to do about it.

“If you deliberately plan on being less than you are capable of being, then I warn you that you will be unhappy for the rest of your life.  It seems that the necessary things to do is not to fear mistakes, to plunge in, to do the best that one can, hoping to learn enough from blunders to correct them eventually.” -Abraham Maslow “Motivation & Personality”

Questions Are A Very Important Part Of Purpose.  So, let’s start with a few:
