Giving Up To Get Up!

Give Up To Get Up!

There is a passage in the Old Testament book of Daniel that talks about Daniel’s fast.  Daniel was heartbroken and gave up the very satisfying things of life, so that he might experience a greater satisfaction that comes not from the earth, but from the Heavens.  He stayed at it for three weeks.  For twenty-one days he gave up, so that He could get up!

“2 In those days, I, Daniel, had been mourning for three entire weeks.  3 I did not eat any tasty food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until the entire three weeks were completed.  4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, while I was by the bank of the great river, that is, the Tigris,  5 I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a certain man dressed in linen, whose waist was girded with a belt of pure gold of Uphaz.  Daniel 10:2-5

You may be going through a tough time, facing some discouragement or just be feeling blah!  Why not think about what you could give up that would help you get up!  There is something in all of our lives and when we are willing to make the sacrifice, it is amazing the results it will produce in our lives!

Go ahead and give it a try!  Stick with it for the next 21 days and see if God will not come into your life and give you a lift!

On My Heart!

A Great Place To Be!

I developed a discipline when I was 12 years old of investing time alone w/ God at the beginning of the day!  I have been doing this for 30+ years & I still have much to learn!

I often share the idea, but not much about the day-to-day experiences, because they are personal!  God is real to me, not a concept, but a friend!

I don’t flaunt it, brag about it or flex it, but that does not make it any less real and powerful.  I would say that it has nothing to do with you, but He has taught me better!  It always begins with Him, but eventually ends with you – whoever you happen to be at the moment!

I am glad God let’s us do life together!  Looking forward to where His Grace takes us next!  G3!

Grace Dinner Blessings!

"Some Call It Free, We Call It Grace!"

I can’t get my mind off of our second Grace Dinner!  What a beautiful crowd that we were blessed with!  I was so excited to see as some of our new friends began walking in the door and I was blessed to see my spiritual family reaching out to touch, minister and serve!  They just kept coming and we kept adapting to accommodate, serve and share the Grace of God!  It was such a beautiful thing!

As I think back about the evening, I just wanted to say “thank you” to the team that helped to make the “dream” work!  We had children, teens, adults and senior adults all working together to make sure that everything was taken care of.

Thank you for listening to and following my directions.  I am not a leader, if I don’t have followers and because you are willing to follow, we are able to accomplish some incredible things.  I could not do it without you!  It takes a team to make the dream work and I am so thankful for the team that God allows me to coach – you guys and gals are amazing!

I can’t be everywhere at the same time, I can’t do everything and so when I was not around to give instructions or to take an action, you guys and gals decided what you thought I would do and did it!  You took care of our guest, you ministered to their needs and did your best to accommodate their every need and share the love of Jesus.  Thank you for taking the initiative and getting the job done!

We glorified God last night!  We blessed lives with GRACE last night!  We crossed lines that make the enemy squirm last night!  We didn’t just tell our community we love them, we showed them love last night!  We worked together and at the end of the night, we were tired physically, but energized spiritually!

I can’t say all that I feel inside, but I hope you know:  I love you and I am so glad that we get to work together in sharing God’s Amazing Grace!  Thank you for remembering that we live on a mission field!  G3!
