Rest!

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him…”

Some days, life feels like it’s running a hundred miles an hour while your heart is begging for a timeout. And then Psalm 37:7 taps you on the shoulder and says, “Slow down. Breathe. Rest in the Lord.”

Rest doesn’t mean inactivity—it means trust. It means you can sit still because God is still working. It means you don’t have to force what God is already forming.

The truth is, waiting is hard. We’re wired to fix things, speed things up, and make life happen on our timetable. But God says, “Let Me handle what you can’t control. Settle your spirit. Quiet your heart. Trust My timing.”

And here’s the beautiful part: when you rest in the Lord, you’re not just stopping—you’re settling into the strongest place you can be. You’re leaning into the One who sees the whole road ahead, who’s never been late, and who’s never failed you yet.

So today, take a deep breath. Let the noise of the world fade for a moment. Sit with the Lord. Whisper a simple prayer: “Lord, I trust You with what I can’t see.”

And then wait—patiently, confidently, expectantly—because the same God who brought you this far will carry you the rest of the way.

Rest in Him. He’s got you.

A Day Just For You!

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

You know, every time I read that verse, I picture stepping outside early in the morning — while the world is still quiet — and feeling that first breath of fresh air hit my face. Before the rush, before the noise, before the worries start lining up like they always do… God whispers, “I made this one for you.”

Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. This day.

Some days come wrapped in sunshine and answered prayers. Others show up with clouds you didn’t order and burdens you didn’t expect. But the beauty of Psalm 118:24 is this: it doesn’t say “rejoice because everything is perfect.” It says “rejoice because God made the day.”

If He made it, He’s in it.

If He’s in it, you’re not alone.

And if you’re not alone, you have a reason to rejoice — even if it’s a small, quiet, “Lord, thank You for getting me up this morning.”

So whatever this day holds for you — joy or struggle, peace or pressure — choose to meet it with a heart that says, “God, I trust You. I’ll walk with You. And I’ll rejoice because You’re good, and You’re with me.”

Take a breath. Smile a little. Step forward with confidence.

This is the day the Lord made just for you — and that’s reason enough to be glad.

Overcomers!

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33 (KJV)

Sometimes life feels like standing on the front porch watching a storm roll across the horizon. The wind picks up… the sky darkens… and you think, “Lord, this one looks rough.” Jesus never sugarcoated that. He told us plainly, “In this world you’re going to face some trouble.” But then He gave us a promise you can anchor your soul to: “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

That means every storm that tries to shake you has already bowed to Him. Every battle that wears you down has already been accounted for at the Cross. And every dark night you face is held in the hands of the One who has already won the victory.

So today, take a deep breath. Step outside for a moment. Let the cool air hit your face and remind you that the same God who paints the morning sky is the same God who walks with you through every valley. Peace isn’t found in the absence of trouble… peace is found in the presence of Jesus.

And when He says, “Be of good cheer,” He’s not asking you to pretend everything is fine. He’s inviting you to trust that He’s already gone ahead of you, fought the battle for you, and secured the victory beneath your feet.

Hold your head high today. The Overcomer walks with you — and because He overcame, you can too.
