The Real Enemy!

There all kinds of different things that come into our lives to do battle against us and try to rob us of all the good things we were created to benefit from and experience the blessings of. And out of all of those things, I believe one of the most destructive is worry. I think worry is is such a destructive enemy, because we underestimate it’s ability and power to do damage and often when we realize the damage it’s done, it’s too late to do much about it.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” -John 10:10

Worry Is The Real Enemy!

Worry is one of our greatest enemies, but it does not get to call the shots in our life, unless we empower it to do so. To defeat worry, we have to decide to not allow it any power in our lives. To overcome worry, we have to choose to trust something or someone else above worry. I would suggest that the One to trust is the One, Who created us, loves us and has a plan to bless us with an abundant life.

Worry Is Sneaky!

Worry sneaks into our life and begins to steal, kill and destroy! It steals our happiness, kills our joy and destroys our life. Often it is in, doing damage and wreaking havoc, before we know what has hit us. It often starts out as a legitimate concern, but then turns into a hideous and ugly monster that wants more and more real-estate in our life and living, Before you know it concern has turned into worry and worry is calling the shots.

Worry Is Only Interested In Itself!

If we are not careful, worry will actually take our life away from us! For worry to survive, it has to feed and it get’s it’s nourishment from the negatives in our life. The great tragedy is that often worry starts out as a very small thing, but before we know it, worry has morphed into something that takes control of our thoughts, influences our decisions in negative ways and causes us to actually lose seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months = life.

The Dangerous Game Of Worry!

Worry starts out making you think that it’s looking out for you, but then some where along the way, it slips into self preservation mode and our process become more about the survival of worry and less about looking our for ourselves. The result is that “our best life” had now drifted even farther away from us. We think that worry is harmless, but we know better! In a lot of ways, worry is like a drug that we get hooked on. Before you know it, you don’t think you can do life without it, but that is one of the greatest lies of the enemy, because the truth is: Most of the time worry is nothing, but a BIG DISTRACTION.

The time we waste worrying is time we lose trusting. Every minute spent in worry is a minute taken away from growing our faith and living a life that gives God glory. God has blessed us with this amazing gift called life. God has given us everything we need to enjoy His blessings that will flow to and through us, but worry causes us to miss out on this grand plan of God.

Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in it. If you are worried about something, then here are a few ideas to shake yourself free:

1.) Have A Conversation God! Remember that a good conversation involves talking and listening.

2.) Make A Plan! Do what you can and then let go of the rest and believe, have faith and trust in God. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it, if you will love and trust Him. Do your part, trust God and I promise you, He will do His…

3.) Live And Learn! Looking back on my life, I have discovered that so many of the things that I wasted time worrying about never happened. Out of the things that did happen, most of them were not near as bad as I convinced myself that they were going to be. And from everything bad that flowed my way, as I lived through it, I grew from it. I am a better person and I am enjoying life better today, because of everything I have been through.

One of the most simple and great reminders that keeps me on a good path is simply this: God’s Got A Plan And It’s To Bless Me!

Putting Your Plan Together!

This week we’ve been talking about seeing and experiencing your perfect day and I thought it would be a good idea to give you a step by step break down on exactly how to do that in a more detailed way than what I have already covered.

“For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace…” -Luke 14:28-33

First – Get A Picture In Your Head! What does your perfect day look like? What are you doing? Who are you talking to? Where are you headed? When do you plan to do what? Where is your motivation coming from? Once you get this picture in your head, the move to the next step.

Second – Break It Down! Let’s say you want to work on yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. Let’s take the physical – what does it mean you want to work on the physical? Let’s say you want to lose weight, ok, what will that take? Eating right and exercise! Now break that down by listing the steps you will need to take to make that happen for you. Do the same thing for the mental and spiritual area of your life or any other areas that you feel will help you experience the perfect day.

Third – Limit Yourself! You can’t do it all, so at most focus on what I like to call “Your Big Three”. Three things that if you don’t accomplish anything else, you must do these. Sticking to specific goals and focusing your effort in that direction will help you to find success and victory quicker.

Fourth – Reward Yourself! When you get this right, then make sure to reward yourself, because you are making progress and progress is what life is all about. Rewards encourage, motivate and challenge you to keep on keeping on.

Fifth – Expect Challenges And Setbacks! It is not always going to work the way you plan, because some days you are just not feeling it. The important thing is not to beat up on yourself, but to get back up on the horse and go for it the next day.

Sixth – Make Your List And Check It All Through Out The Day! This is a continual source of motivation that will help you to stay focused on the main thing, because distraction is a very real enemy.

Seventh – Enjoy Your Day! The whole point in planning your day is so you can enjoy it, so make sure that you make and take the time to do just that…

Fail To Plan And You Plan To Fail!

It is amazing how many people want success, victory and blessings, yet so many of us never ever take the time to actually plan for these things. We just think that by wishing for them every now and then, that we might get lucky and everything fall into place as if by magic.

Every 24 hours we are given a day to do with as we please. If we are wise, we will make plans for every day we are blessed with and if we are careful and conscientious to follow those plans, then our plans with guide us strategically through the maze of busy activity to a place of accomplishment and fulfillment. If we are not careful to lay out a plan at the beginning of the day, then before we know it, we will be at the end of our day and at the mercy of coincidence and chaos.

‘In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” -Proverbs 16:9

We have been created to accomplish the divine stuff of the supernatural, if we will take the time to plan and then commit to work that plan. A failure to plan, will allow procrastination to sit on the throne of our decision making and cause us to be disoriented and lost from the very beginning.

What is the big things you want to get done, need to get done today? Try to pick at least three things that need to be accomplished to help you make progress toward your big goals in life. When you figure out your big three, break each one of them down into action steps and prioritize the steps and you have a plan for your day. This is what makes the impossible become possible. When we get this right, the unmanageable, becomes manageable and helps us to get unstuck and back on track.

Taking the time to plan your day will give you the insight you need to live the blessed and incredible life you were created for. Take some time today to think about your week, which is made up of seven days. Think about what you need to do during those seven days to accomplish the goals that move your forward and give you the progress you were created for. If you will do you part, God will do His part to help you and miracles will become a naturally occurring reality in your life and living…
