Dealing With A Wild And Crazy Mind!

I used to love to watch and listen to Steve Martin do his “Wild & Crazy Guy” routine and it was very wild and very crazy. I think I loved it so much, because that is exactly how my mind tends to work. My mind tends to be wild and crazy with thoughts thousands of thoughts bouncing around in thousands of different directions. Can you relate?

It’s taken me at least half of a life time to learn that it does not have to be that way. I have the power at any given time, whenever I choose to direct my thoughts and control my mind. And when I choose to do this apart from my ego and yielded to spirit, the supernatural takes place and amazing things begin to manifest into my life.

Another word to describe my wild and crazy mind is chaos. And when chaos is present, peace has usually been sent packing. In order to get a mind of peace, I must deal with chaos and to deal with chaos, I must redirect my mind away from wild and crazy into the direction of love. The God mind is a mind of love, because God is love.

To redirect my mind to love is to make the choice to surrender my thoughts to God, to allow God to take my mind into His loving hands and reshape it into what it was originally supposed to be, before the chaos of sin got a hold of it.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. -Colossians 3:2

The key to getting rid of the wild and crazy thoughts of chaos that are running rampant all over the place is to set/focus/direct your mind on things above – the stuff of God, which is love. To set your mind on things above, you have to take your mind off of things here below – the earthly stuff that causes chaos and confusion.

It begins with a choice! You have to get tired of the way that is not working to find the motivation and discipline to do something about it and stick with it. This is why we go to love and not just any love, but the supernatural love of God, because it empowers us from the inside to make real life changes on the outside that enable us to live the blessed life we were created for.

So be a wild and crazy guy or gal if you want to and have fun with that, but don’t give up your mind. Keep it in God’s hands and under your control and you will be amazed at just how wild and crazy in a good way, this life here on earth can be!

Becoming Powerful!

Breath Is Life! Have you ever stopped to think about what an amazing thing BREATHING is? I mean if our breathing stops, then life as we know it stops. Breath is the evidence of an external force and supernatural source at work in, on and through us. A force and source which allows us to live, grow and experience the miraculous from the inside – out.

Notice Your Breath! Take a moment to pay attention to your breath. Inhale a deep breath and hold it for a moment, now as you exhale, think about and realize the reality of the power of breath. Isn’t it amazing! We don’t have to remind ourselves to do it. We just naturally breath in and out all day and all night long, asleep or awake. Breathing is an awesome gift from our Creator, a gift that keeps giving in so many different ways.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” -Genesis 2:7

When we take the time to become aware of our breath, we are almost immediately reminded of God’s love. Breath is His gift of life to us, which enables us as spiritual beings to enjoy, learn and grow from this human experience. I breathe in God’s love, His endless love, miracles and blessings flow into my life and empower me to remember who I am. I am a child of the Most High God, the Creator of everything and the sustainer of all life. From within and all around me, I find spiritual nourishment from my connection with the divine.

Open up your heart, mind and spirit today. Pay attention to who and what you really are. Not a human being, but a spiritual being, empowered by the supernatural power of the One who created you. Breathe in God’s love, grace and mercy and breathe out love, grace and mercy to others. This participation with divinity is our super power to transform lives and change this world we live in.

Learn Your Lesson!

Have you heard the quote: ”Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.”? From the best I can tell, this quote most likely comes from the writer and philosopher George Santayana, and in it’s original form he said: ”Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Santayana attended Boston Latin School and Harvard College, where he studied under the philosophers William James and Josiah Royce. He later became a professor in philosophy at Harvard.

Santayana’s philosophy, in a nutshell teaches that ”History repeats itself!” Ancient philosophy teaches that life is a spiral that presents us with lessons and when we fail to learn the lesson life presents, then life has a way of bringing the lesson back around again and again, until we do get it. It may be in the same form or in a totally different form, but its purpose is always the same, it is to instruct, grow and develop us into all we are created for.

”What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” -Ecclesiates 1:9

When things in life are not working, then there is something for us to learn. Failure to learn has consequences and will cost us something. When something is not working in our life, then we need to take this as an indication that there are parts of our mind, body and spirit that need integration.

This requires that we take on our ego, because we are so much more than what we have, what we do or who people think we are. If we are paying attention then this life is trying to teach us something. When we get what it’s teaching us, then we are heading to an amazing place.

What is this life trying to teach you? How are you going to learn from your mistakes? When will you start making decisions to integrate your life? Where are you heading with your decision or indecision? Why are you waiting? Seize the now, learn your lesson and grow your life! You will be glad you did…
