Life Is Good!

So many times in our life and living, we are so focused on the next goal, the next day, the next accomplishment, the next “whatever”, that we miss the moments that are life. When we measure the success of failure of our lives through the lens of tasks accomplished, goals obtained or actions taken, we miss the biggest part of life by ignoring the obvious.

In the meditation movement, we are encouraged to be present in the moment, so that we don’t miss the life that is happening right in front of us. It is very helpful to take a step back every now and then to make sure that we are focused on what really matters and not on just what we have convinced ourselves that matters.

Being present is our God given capacity to step out of the busyness of life and into the moment, so that we might take in all that our present experience is offering us. Some of us are great at this and some of us battle to slow our minds down enough to allow ourselves the opportunity to enjoy this moment of life.

“15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” -Ephesians 5:15-16

It is possible to live life and yet not really be living at all. It is possible to miss all the good stuff while we are focusing on all the stuff that we are trying to bring into compliance. In those rare moments when we are actually present, life becomes magical. We see and smile at the fluttering butterfly. We breath in the sweet smell of the beautiful flowers and feel pleasure from the inside-out.

There is nothing wrong with getting things done. Accomplishment is a very satisfying gift in and of itself, but don’t allow the goal of accomplishment to cause you to miss out on the precious gift of life and especially life in the moments that all too often get missed.

Life is about so much more than what gets done through our accomplishments. A life well lived is a life that had learned to experience life as it happens by enjoying the precious gifts the moment.

Someone has said that this life is God’s gift to us and what we do with this life is our gift to God. When I give someone a gift and they appreciate and enjoy it, that is a gift to me. The fuller life that God has for each of us can best be experienced by not missing, but enjoying the moments.

Life is a collection of moments, enjoy everyone of them!

Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes!

We live in a world where most everyone likes to complain, but very few really want to do anything to make a difference. The problem is that complaining very rarely changes anything meaningful, except for most folks attitude and it tends to make attitudes worse, rather than better. Change is actually a natural part of life and it’s going to happen one way or another. The seasons change from spring to summer, from summer to fall, from fall to winter and then from winter back to spring. Change is a pretty simple concept: In order to experience change, something or someone has to change. Change generates change…

The Scriptures teach us about change. In fact, one might say that the Scriptures are a guidebook to assist us in making and experiencing the most meaningful change. Jesus began his earthly ministry with a message of change, when he said: “Repent, for the Kingdom Of Heaven is at hand!” Jesus was challenging us to change before it’s too late and change isn’t possible. Repentance is the spiritual word for change and it literally means to change direction! It carries with it the idea of acknowledging that you are headed in the wrong direction and doing a u turn to head away from the wrong and into the right. This is the best change we could ever make and it is a changing that continues to challenge and change us everyday of our life and living.

Jesus did not come to give us rules. Jesus came to set people free! When Jesus challenges us to change, it is so we might be able to tap into the supernatural power that allows us to experience meaningful change that make life better and more pleasurable. Life is supposed to be and opportunity for growth, where we are blessed to bless. God blesses us, so that we can bless one another and in the process, God gets the glory for the amazing work He does on us, in us, to us and through us.

Please understand: You were created to dominate, not to be dominated. Do you ever feel like you are just getting run over by the world? That’s not the way God created you to live. God wants this life to be a growing experience of blessing. A life where we receive His best and share His best. In order to change, you have to change. What are the changes that God is challenging you to make in your life and what are you doing to make them happen? I will make you this promise: If you do your part, God will do His!

You – Version 2.0

If you will take just a moment to observe all of creation, you can’t help but notice that everything that has been created is continually improving and becoming better. You were made in the image of God and you are a work in progress, which means that you are a part of the Master’s Master Piece, created to become a better version of yourself. Becoming a better version of yourself does not happen by accident, but by taking very intentional steps here are a few of the steps that we all need to take to become the better version of who God created us to be.

Three Steps To Becoming A Better Version of Yourself!

1.) Believe You’ve Got The Power! “18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.’ -Matthew 28:18 God is all powerful and God flows His unlimited to power through His Son Jesus Christ into our lives. This unlimited supernatural power enables us to live a life that is beyond anything that our limited human mind can comprehend or dream. You’ve got the power, but you have to believe it for it to become active and effective in your life and living.

You have spiritual, mental and physical power! The power of God that flows to and through your life is not limited to just one area, but instead flows to every area of your life, enabling you to become all that you were created to become in blessing others and giving glory to God.

In Philippians 4:13 the Scripture teaches that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” We need to personalize this verse and allow it to empower our faith to help us believe that all things are possible with God, our Creator.

I challenge you to: Say it, believe it and live your life in it’s power!

2.) Get Active And Stay Committed! “19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” -Matthew 28:19 gives us the command to go in that power that God has given us and make disciples. You know you’ve got it, when you can’t help but share it with others. As we keep working on ourselves, before we know it – we are helping others, which is why it is very important to remember: You can’t give to anyone else what you don’t possess!

3.) Remember: Team Work Makes The Dream Work! “20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” -Matthew 28:20 explains that the best example is example and so we need to live our lives out loud and proud by coming together and working together to be a blessing to one another. There is no “I” in Team, but there is an EAM = Everyone Achieves More! Remember: God Plus Me Equals A Majority and with God and me working together with His other special creations, anything is possible…
