A Moment In Time!

At the moment, I find that I am intrigued by moments. I mean, when you stop for a moment and think about it, it’s the moments that we live for. What exactly is it that makes a moment? We love to play the game of idolization, which tends to make another time, another place and another person, situation or condition the magical moment, but in truth, this is just a game we play, so we don’t have to face reality, which can sometimes sting.

We often avoid the reality of the present moment by romanticizing some moment from our past or fantasizing some moment in our future and the great tragedy is that we miss the magic of the present circumstances with all of their potential to bring about the miraculous.

If you wonder why we do it? It’s because of our ego. We like to think that we are what we have, what we do or what we think others think of us, but we are so much more! And we must take on the wild monkeys running around in our ego mind, so that we can overcome this habit of self sabotage. This is the very bad habit that keeps getting in the way of our living in the pure peace of the present moment with all of its potential for the things that can’t be explained and only experienced.

You are here, in this time and place for a reason. The only question that really matters is: “What are you going to do with this?” I am finding myself more and more at this very unique place and I have to admit that I like it. I don’t want anything, I don’t expect anything, I just simply allow whatever and live with it, learn from it and let it take me where it will. Some people may say that I am going with the flow, but I like to think that I am allowing myself to be the flow – going wherever for whatever I was created for…

Mark 8:36 says “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, but lose his soul?”

So many of us today are wandering around looking for our souls in a moment of time and missing the heart and spirit of the moment that we are in at this time and place. Don’t miss the power, healing and miracle of this moment. Embrace it and allow it to take you to the better place that you can never ever seem to get yourself…

The Power Of Being Present!

So many of us are failing to live life, because we are distracted by the failures of yesterday or anxious about the worries of tomorrow. We miss the holiness of the present moment, because we are not fully present. Part of us is stuck in the past and part of us is lost in the future and whatever is left over is trying to get by in this human experience. This is no way to live this amazing and beautiful gift called life.

To live in the power of the present we must learn from yesterday, our past mistakes and failures and then let them go and move on. Otherwise we run the risk of totally missing the present and all the miracles and blessings it has to offer. To live in the power of the present we must learn to not get drawn out of the now by worrying about tomorrow and what may or may not happen.

Insurance companies know that a large percentage of the stuff we worry about never happens and this is why they rake in billions of dollars a every year, because somehow we are convinced that giving them our money buys us a little peace of mind, just in case???

Luke 12:25-31 says: “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”

In this moment, we have the perfect, infinite and empowering love of God. When I learn to live in the present moment, by not being distracted by the past or lost in the future, I am free to experience the salvation that breaks the thoughts that attempt to enslave me. In this place of power, nothing has the strength to hold me back or keep me down, except my thoughts which I choose to empower.

In this beautiful place of love, this majestic present moment, I receive forgiveness, restoration and am filled with everything I need to live the most amazing human experience ever. In this moment I can choose to give what I have received, showing that I truly get it and releasing the weight of burdens that had long enslaved me. In this moment, I am open to miracles and realize that life is a day and eternity. In this moment, I am everything I am created to be and nothing that gets in the way of the Master’s plan for my blessing and fulfillment.

Today, right now in this very moment, I choose to live in the unlimited power of the present. I learn from and let go of past sins and failures for myself and others. I keep my thoughts under control and focused, so that I do not wander and get lost in an uncertain future and instead find in the power of this present moment the opportunity to create a future of blessing that chases me rather than having me chase it. I allow love to get rid of fear and light to overcome darkness, so that I might be, do and experience all I was created for.

Forgive what was, don’t get lost in what might be and choose to grab hold of what is and enjoy the presence and peace of the One who brought you to the dance in this present moment – it truly is magic!

The Miracle Of Restoration!

Looking back on my life, I can see so many times where I made mistakes, committed sin and missed the mark. I like to think I have learned and grown from most of those experiences. The major thing I have learned from my failures, is that God is uniquely merciful, abounding in grace and infinitely loving. His forgiveness and restoration encourages me to live and learn and one of the greatest ways I have found to do that is by showing my appreciation for what God has done by learning from my mistakes, atoning for my sins and making amends for where I have failed others.

I receive forgiveness, not because I deserve it, but so that my heart might be freed up from the energy that is wasted in a battle of shame caused by the continual back and forth with guilt. I am God’s special creation and With His unconditional love, He shows me that my value is not based on what I have or have not done, but on who he is and who he created me to be. Romans 5:2 says: “Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

God’s goal for us is blessing. God is not trying to catch us doing something wrong. God is attempting to help us grow to our best. He does that, not by punishing us, but by correcting us. The process of our turning from our sin and turning to our God allows atonement to do a work in our heart and life, enabling us to live life at the higher place We were created for. Atonement provides us the opportunity to begin again as many times as we need to, because the purpose is our education and growth, not our punishment and eradication. It is God using His gifts of love, grace and mercy to lift us up, grow us and empower us for the greater life of blessing we were created for.

Open your heart to recognize and learn from your mistakes, sins and failures. Allow atonement to do its work in, on and through your life by accepting responsibility for your dishonesty, laziness and carelessness which has caused harm to both yourself and others. Pray for and reach out to those you have wronged or who have been impacted by your wrong and seek healing and restoration. Learn from your challenges and grow to be the person of blessing you were created to be.

May your life be filled with His love that overcomes fear and supernatural light that illuminates and chases away the darkness.
