We think thousands of thoughts everyday. Some are self-generated and some come from the influence of others. What we see, smell, touch, hear, taste and feel all have an influence upon our thoughts. Out past, present and future all have the capacity to direct our thoughts. Our thought can travel in a negative or positive direction. Our thought can take us toward our goals and dreams or away from them!
I’ve discovered that a thought can be right or wrong, true or false and it really does not matter, it still has the power to influence and direct out lives. The only thing a thought needs to give it power is belief and when thought and belief collide there is an explosion of potential.
This can be good if the thought is right, true or positive, but it can also be bad if the thought is wrong, false or negative. This is why we have to be careful with out thoughts and our beliefs. This is why God’s Word is so important, because it teaches us how to master both.
Proverbs 23:7 says: “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he!” Ouch! When I was a little boy growing up in church, we used to sing a song that said: “Be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, be careful little hands what you do, be careful little feet where you go and be careful little mouth what you say.”
It then says: “For the Father up above is looking down in love, so be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, be careful little hands what you do, be careful little feet where you go and be careful little mouth what you say”
Good advice if you want to harness the incredible power of one little thought. Take some time to give this thought some power and you will be glad you did!
Thank you Pastor for this reminder this morning. Many times I get caught up in all the hassle of the season that I become negative. Then I wonder why my family is negative. I need to let God control my thoughts actions so I can be a blessing to those around me.
It is a battle that most of us have to face and fight! I am praying for you as your journey to where God wnats you to be! Blessings!
