Revelation Monday!

Wanna Read It?

Do You Like The Book Of Revelation?  For the next couple of months, on every Monday, I am going to be taking a look at a passage from the book of Revelation.  I hope that you enjoy reading and encourage you to share the link with family and friends, if it makes a difference in your life!  Thanks for reading!

The Bible is a letter from God to His Creation!  When we read and obey it, the Bible changes our lives for the better.  In Revelation 2:1-5 we find the first of seven letters written to God’s Church.  These letters instruct, guide and grow us, when we are willing to submit to their leadership and direction!

1″To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:  These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands: 2  I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3  You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4  Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5  Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

In this letter, we are given a “thumbs up” for our deeds, toil and perseverance!  God takes a look at what we have done and what we are doing and compliments us for what we are getting right, but then He tells us that He has something against us!

We have left our first love!  In other words – we had it, but have walked away!  How do I know if I have walked away from and left my first love?  Answer these three questions:  1.) Do you want to get into His Word?  2.) Do you have a passion to serve His Church?  3.) Do you share Jesus with others?  If you answer “no” to any of these questions, then your love is not as hot and passionate as it could be.

So, what are you going to do about it?  He tells us in this passage to Remember, Repent and Repeat!  Remember how good your love relationship with God used to be.  Repent because it is not as hot and passionate as it used to be.  Repeat and do the things that you used to do when you were red hot in love with God!

It really is pretty simple – just takes a step of obedience!
