What’s Just As Important As The Right Answer?

It really is amazing how much time we spend in our lives looking for the right answers, when maybe what we really need to focus on is asking the right questions. The right answers to the wrong questions does not really do a lot for us, but the right answers to the right questions can propel us forward unlike anything else.

The right question can cause a shift in perspective and that is often the one thing that is needed to get us headed to the place where the blessings flow. So lets see if we can find some right questions and good answers that will help us to move into the place of blessing we were created for.

Here is a very good question to start with? “What’s Your Problem?” To find the meaningful answer, then you have to ask the right question and it does not get any more basic, real or to the point than this one. As you look at your life in this very moment – WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

Now that you have the question, you’ve got to come up with the right answer and the right answer is the real answer, not the answer that you think everyone is expecting you to give. I mean right now, what is the one problem that you have, that if you honestly gave your effort and energy to asking and answering the question, it could start a domino effect of fixing so many things?

Now, not only do you have to ask the right question and answer it, but you have got to be totally real with yourself and others about your answer and what it means. Be honest with yourself about what you are experiencing, feeling, needing and thinking. Be honest about the steps you need to take to get yourself headed in the right direction.

I am learning that if I ask the right questions and get the right answers, then I am much better off that playing that old game of going thru the motions of pretend. What are you facing and dealing with right now and what are you going to do about it? If you will answer the question and then take action on your answer, you will be on your way to a place called success, which is a place that most only dream about…

Watch Your Talk And Your Thought!

“We have the same spirit of faith, according as it is written. I believed and therefore have I spoken: We also believe and therefore speak.” -2 Corinthians 4:13

In my role as a Minister, Master Life Coach and Mentor, I see people everyday defeated by their thoughts, because of what they believe. And I see people defeated by their words and what they say. It is true that most of us are our very own worst enemy. The idea that our talk and thought decide the life we are going to experience is really such a simple truth with very powerful implications. We really need to get this, because it has the potential to change our life and living in a very positive way.

Our thoughts – what we believe matters, because it impacts what we say. Our talk – what we say matters, because it impacts how we thin and what we believe. This is why it is very important to get our thoughts and words right, because they empower and feed off of one another, creating an infinite loop of positive direction up or negative spiral down. We are feeding a beast of blessing or a beast of burden, the choice is ours???

Faith/belief/trust is a powerful gift of God that enables us to shape reality with what is in our heart that flows out of our mouth. In Mark 11:23, Jesus put it this way: “If you believe in your heart that what you say will come to pass, you’ll have whatever you say.” And this is just another reason why it is so important to read and meditate on God’s Word, because what we continually believe and say is what we will believe and receive.

To believe something is to speak it and to speak something is to believe it. And this is why all the great teachers remind us to: Watch your thoughts, because they turn into words. Listen to your words, because they become actions. Pay attention to your actions, because they turn into habits. Be careful with your habits, because they become your character. Make sure you are in control of your character, because it impacts your destiny…

If I Won The Lottery???

This is one of those things that I doubt would ever happen, because I don’t play the lottery, but it is still fun to think about. It’s kinda fun watching folks happen upon unexpected riches and then watch what they do and how they live, but I am not so sure that a bunch of money would change that much for me.

If I won the lottery, I would choose to live right where I am living today. The place we live is not just our house, it is our home. My Bride’s PaPa and MaMa built the house and there are reminders of them all around the place, inside and outside too. It’s not a big house, but it is big enough for us. My Bride always said that her dream house would be brick ranch style house with a circle driveway in front and that is exactly what we have. It’s very comfortable and there is land to work a garden right beside it. We might would upgrade a few things, like the barn and flower beds, but we are happy with our home, it’s comforts and the joy it brings our family.

If I won the lottery, I would continue to work and minister. I don’t really do either of those things for the money, because there are a lot of ways that I could make a lot more money. I do these things, because it’s what I am called and gifted to do and because this is where my joy comes from. I enjoy getting up early and going to bed tired. I love the opportunity to serve others. We live a pretty blessed life and have learned to be happy with what God has blessed us with.

If I won the lottery, I probably would buy a more reliable and comfortable vehicle. I mean if I had the money to splurge??? What would I buy? I really don’t have any idea, but it would be kinda fun trying to figure it out.

I’ve never had a lot of money and I don’t think a lot of money could buy me a life as happy and blessed as the life I am living. I don’t think money is a bad thing, in fact, I like having some to do with as I please, but my happiness if not dependent on it.

Life has a way of teaching you what really matters. A family and friends that you love and that love you back, a roof over your head, food to eat and a way to get from “a to b” and you are pretty much set for an amazing life, at least that’s what I think.

P.S. One more thing I thought about! If I won the lottery and had more money than I knew what to do with, then I would buy a place at Fripp Island, because it is one of my favorite escapes. I would want a place big enough that I could always bring family and friends to share it with, because I just can’t keep the good stuff to myself, the real joy and pleasure comes from sharing!!! 😎
