Gratiloud!

Don’t Keep the Goodness of God to Yourself!

Psalm 105:1 (KJV) says,

“O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.”

Sometimes we treat gratitude like a quiet, private thing. We whisper a quick “thank you” to God in our prayers and then go on with our day. But this verse reminds us that thanksgiving is not meant to stay hidden. It is meant to be shared.

When God blesses your life, that blessing becomes a testimony. When God answers a prayer, that answer becomes a story. When God carries you through a hard season, that experience becomes encouragement for someone else who is walking through their own valley.

The Psalmist says, “Make known His deeds among the people.” In other words, talk about what God has done. Tell somebody how He helped you. Let the goodness of God roll off your tongue like a song that refuses to stay silent.

You never know who needs to hear it.

Somebody around you today may be wondering if God still answers prayer. Somebody may be questioning whether God sees their struggle. And your story—your simple testimony—might be the reminder they need that God is still working.

So today, don’t just carry gratitude in your heart. Share it with your voice.

Give thanks to the Lord.

Call upon His name.

And let the world know what He has done.

Because when we tell the story of God’s goodness, we don’t just celebrate the past—we strengthen someone else’s faith for the future.

Pray And Praise!

In James 5:13, James asks a very simple question: “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

In other words, whatever season you find yourself in today, bring it to God.

Life has a way of handing us both sunshine and storms. Some days feel heavy. The burdens pile up, the problems seem bigger than the answers, and the road ahead looks a little uncertain. James says when you find yourself in that place, don’t panic and don’t give up—pray.

Prayer is not a last resort for the child of God; it is our first response. When we pray, we invite the strength of Heaven into the struggles of Earth. The situation may not change immediately, but something inside of us begins to change. Peace replaces panic, faith pushes back fear, and hope begins to rise again.

But James doesn’t stop there. He also reminds us that when life is good, when the blessings are flowing and the heart is full, we should sing praises. In other words, don’t forget God in the good times. Celebrate His goodness and let gratitude fill your heart.

So today, wherever you find yourself—whether in a valley of trouble or standing on a mountaintop of joy—remember this simple truth: talk to God about it.

Pray through the hard times.

Praise through the good times.

And trust that the same God who hears your prayer is the God who walks with you every step of the way.

For Such A Time As This!

Sometimes in life we find ourselves in places we never expected. A job we didn’t plan on, a season we didn’t see coming, or a situation that feels bigger than we are. And somewhere along the way we begin to wonder, “Why am I here?”

That’s exactly the moment Esther faced in the Bible.

She had gone from an ordinary life to becoming queen. But when danger came to her people, her cousin Mordecai sent her a message that still speaks to us today:

“And I who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

In other words, “Esther, maybe God put you here on purpose.”

Sometimes we forget that God is always working behind the scenes. What looks like coincidence to us is often God quietly positioning us for a moment of purpose.

The people you know, the place you live, the experiences you’ve had, even the struggles you’ve walked through—God can use every one of those things.

Nothing in God’s hands is wasted.

Esther could have stayed silent and played it safe. But she realized that her position came with responsibility. God had placed her there for a reason.

And the truth is, the same may be true for you.

You may be in your family, your church, your workplace, or your community for a reason bigger than you realize. There may be someone who needs your courage, your faith, or simply a word of encouragement.

So the next time you wonder why you are where you are, remember Esther.

God doesn’t place His people randomly.

He places them with purpose.

And you just might be exactly where you are for such a time as this.
