What The World Could Use A Lot More Of…

”Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

With all the craziness going on in our world today, it often gets me to thinking: What really matters and what is worth fighting for? Here are a few of the things I think the world could use a lot more of and so, I am going to do my part to take and make my stand on these, believing they are a part of our Divine birthright.

WISDOM – It is available all around us, but now a days, you often have to do a little work to unearth it and put it into application. We can find it in the sacred spiritual texts and many great men and women through the years have voiced bits and pieces to help us understand what is really important in the living of this thing called life. I think one of the greatest enemies of wisdom is distraction. We don’t see it, hear it or feel it, so we miss out on it’s power to raise us to a higher and better place.

TRUTH – Believe it or not, there is a truth and it does matter. We live in a world that likes to make up it’s own truth, which is often a lie, desguised as truth to try to make us feel better. Sometimes the truth hurts, but there is healing for the hurt and growth in the truth, whcih is why it is so necessary. Much of our truth flows out of the wisdom of the ages,, so pay attention, because it is all around us.

FORGIVENESS – It is a beautiful thing to be forgiven and it is a beautiful thing to share that forgivness with others. We all do things that we should not do and fail to do things we should. Our Creator forgives us and we should forgive ourselves and then pass this amazing gift on. The beautiful thing about forgiveness is that it is a gift that blesses in both directions.

PEACE – It’s hard to describe with words, but when you find yourself right in th middle of chaos, but have the calm inward assurance that everything is going to be okay – this is peace and it is an amazing thing. In this world today, we need it more than ever. The good news is: Wisdom tells us it’s there, truth helps us to claim it and forgiveness opens our heart to receive it, so that love can flow.

LOVE – God is love! Love is so much more than just a word. It is God in us and through us. We receive it, but we don’t just hold onto it, we are transformed by it and then we pass it on to others, which grows our capacity to be open to more and more, so that we can share it in even greater ways, because in the sharing – God is glorified and man is blessed…

REBIRTH!

The Scriptures speak of being born again. This has always been a fascinating and at the same time, confusing consideration. It is fascinating because, we want to understand, it is confusing because, most of us usually don’t make the effort. But we should, because while being born again is not necessairly an easy work, it is a very necessary one.

To be born again is to be born of the spirit and it is a spiritual process. It is the re-awakening to our potential and while it does require some effort on our part, it is our God, Spirit, Lord, Christ, Source, who does the heavy lifiting. Spiritual labor, just like physical labor can be challenging and tiring. It is work from the inside – out. It involves us surrendering our will and coming to a place of giving up, letting go, and allowing our heart to grow tender.

“Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” -John 3:3

In the spiritual labor of being born again, it does not matter who gets the credit, who is right, who is wrong, how long it takes, what the opinions of others might happen to be or who gets the prize??? The only thing that matters is the end result and some where along the way, we begin realize that all of our effort is just not enough. In the tired weariness of living in this old sin sick world, we finally surrender, give up and allow ourselves to rest in the arms of our Creator. It is at this place that the miracle of rebirth begins to happen.

Being reborn is finding the love we’ve been searching for all of our lives. Once we are reborn, we quickly find comfort in our new skin, because we understand that we are loved. We are loved because we were created by love and for love. We are not so easily distracted by the stuff of this world, because we finally understand that we are just passing through to a better and more perfect place. We experience freedom that sets us free from fear and allows us to overcome any and all challenges with love, sweet love.

This new energy of love opens up a whole new spiritual world within the physcial world of our dwelling, which offers us opportunities for growth outside of ourselves and into the supernatural. It is within the supernatural, that we find the strength, maturity and spirit to grow as we have never grown before. This growth in grace is the sweet and beautiful gift that we were created and re-created for, so please make sure that you enjoy it, every baby step of the way…

How To Not Miss The Beauty Of Life!

There is beauty all around us, we only have to open our eyes to see and observe all that is amazing, wonderful and majestic. There is music for us to dance to, if we will just turn our ears to hear and listen for the beat of a different drum, the wind as it blows through the trees or the sound of nature as it awakes and plays with the day. There is pleanty to touch us, heal us and lift us up, if and when we allow our hearts to feel and experience the love that surrounds us, the hope that fills us and the miracles that bless us.

Our probelm is that we often miss the seeing, hearing and feeling of life because we allow ourselves to become distracted by the illlusions of life that convince us that life is something other than what it really is. We think that life is work, posessions or opinions, when in reality, life is life. There is an old saying that says: “Be careful or you might miss the forest for the trees.” I say: “Be careful or you might miss life because of what you think life is supposed to be.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.” -Psalms 19:1-3

If we will take the time to reframe our thinking, so that we might tap back into the way we were originally created to think, we will see beatuiful manifestations of divinity all around us. We will hear the sweet music of all of creation singing praise to our purpose. And we will feel, really feel the gorgeous feelings that words cannot even come close to explaining.

We are surronded by evidence that reminds us that this world is an amazing place, filled with incredible, gifted people. That there are amzing opportunities and unexplainable miracles waiting just around the next corner. Embrace the senses that God has given you and open yourself up to experience the flow of incredible blessings that make life worth the living.

Stop hiding in the distractions of busyness and missing the miracles that visit to fellowship with you, grow you and bless you. Nature surrounds us with beauty, friendships bless us with healing tenderness and miracles do not have to be seen or heard, only experienced. Open yourself up to the something better you were created for and enjoy this amazing gift called life… You will be glad you did!
