“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” -John 7:38
There is something powerful about the word flow.
Jesus did not say a trickle of living water. He did not say a small cup or a limited supply. He said rivers.
Rivers are constant. Rivers move. Rivers bring life wherever they go.
Many people today feel dry on the inside. Life has a way of draining our strength, wearing down our joy, and leaving our hearts thirsty for something more. We try to fill that emptiness with busyness, success, or even the approval of others, but nothing seems to satisfy for very long.
Jesus reminds us that the answer is not found in something we achieve, but in Someone we trust.
When we truly believe on Christ, He places something within us that the world cannot give and cannot take away. His Spirit becomes a well of strength when we feel weak. A source of peace when life feels uncertain. A steady stream of hope when circumstances seem dry.
Notice this living water does not just stay in us. It flows from us. God never intended His work in our life to stop with us. He fills us so we can encourage others. He strengthens us so we can lift others. He comforts us so we can bring comfort to those around us.
If you feel empty today, come back to the source.
Believe again. Trust again. Draw near again.
Because when Christ fills your life, what flows out of you will bring life to others.
