“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” -Romans 5:1
Every person I know is looking for peace. Some look for it in success. Others chase it through possessions, recognition, or trying to prove themselves good enough. But real peace does not come from what we achieve. It comes from what Christ has already accomplished.
Romans 5:1 gives us one of the most beautiful truths in the Bible. It says we are justified by faith. That word justified is a courtroom word. It means declared righteous. Not because we earned it. Not because we deserved it. But because Jesus paid the price for us.
Think about that for a moment. The God of heaven is not at war with you anymore. Through Jesus, the hostility is gone, the debt is paid, and the verdict has been settled.
And what is the result? Peace with God.
Not temporary calm. Not a moment of relief. But a settled peace deep in the soul that says, Everything between me and God has been made right.
That means you do not have to live under guilt. You do not have to keep trying to prove yourself worthy. Through faith in Christ, the work has already been done.
So today, take a deep breath and rest in that truth.
If you belong to Jesus, you are forgiven, you are justified, and you are at peace with God.
And that kind of peace can steady your heart no matter what the day brings.
