The Good Shepherd!

John 10:11 says, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”

I’ve always loved the picture Jesus paints there. A shepherd isn’t distant. He isn’t detached. A shepherd lives with the sheep. He walks where they walk. He watches when they rest. He protects when danger comes.

And Jesus says, “That’s who I am.”

Not a hired hand who runs when things get hard.

Not someone who only shows up when it’s convenient.

But the Good Shepherd.

The hired hand might care about the paycheck.

But the shepherd cares about the sheep.

And the greatest proof of that love is the cross.

Jesus didn’t just talk about loving us—He laid down His life for us.

When we were wandering…

When we were weak…

When we were lost…

The Good Shepherd stepped between us and our danger and said, “I’ll take it.”

That means today you are not alone.

You are not unprotected.

You are not forgotten.

The Good Shepherd knows your name.

He knows where you are.

And He is watching over you with a love that was proven at Calvary.

So if life feels uncertain today, just remember this simple truth:

You belong to a Shepherd who loved you enough to die for you—and who lives today to lead you.
