Guided Steps!

“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.” -Psalm 143:8

There is something powerful about the way we begin our morning.

David prayed, “Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning.” He understood that the first voice we need to hear each day is not the noise of the world, but the kindness of God.

Before the news, before the schedule, before the demands of the day, our hearts need to be reminded that God loves us, God is with us, and God is already ahead of us.

David also prayed, “Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk.” Life is full of decisions and directions. Sometimes we wish God would show us the whole road ahead, but often He simply shows us the next step.

And that step begins with trust.

David said, “For in thee do I trust: I lift up my soul unto thee.” That is a beautiful picture of surrender. It is simply saying, “Lord, today belongs to You. Lead me. Guide me. Direct me.”

When you start your day with God, you start your day with peace.

When you trust Him with your steps, you can walk forward with confidence.

So tomorrow morning, pause for a moment. Open the Word. Whisper a prayer. Lift your soul to God and listen for His lovingkindness.

Because when God guides your steps, you will always be walking in the right direction.
