Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” -John 10:11.
That verse settles my heart every time I read it.
Jesus didn’t say He was a hired hand. He didn’t say He was a consultant who shows up when it’s convenient. He said He is the Good Shepherd. That means He knows His sheep, He stays with His sheep, and when danger shows up, He steps in front of it.
A hired hand runs when things get hard. A shepherd stays.
Some days you feel scattered. Some days you feel vulnerable. Some days you wonder if you’re going to make it through the valley you’re walking in. But hear this clearly today: you are not facing life alone. The Shepherd is with you, and He has already proven His love. He laid down His life for you.
The cross is not just a symbol of forgiveness. It is proof of commitment. Jesus didn’t abandon you at your worst, and He won’t abandon you now.
So take a breath. Lift your head. Trust the Shepherd’s voice. He knows the way through this field, and He will safely lead you home.
