“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” —Colossians 3:23-24 (KJV)
I remember my Pops used to say “If you’re gonna do something—do it like it matters, even if nobody’s watching.” He was a simple man. Worked hard. Didn’t need a spotlight. Just needed his hands getting dirty and his heart set on Jesus.
This verse right here? It’s a reminder that every little thing we do—folding laundry, flipping burgers, writing sermons, wiping tears, changing diapers—it all matters when it’s done unto the Lord. You don’t need a title to be faithful. You don’t need applause to be effective. All you need is the heart to say, “Lord, this is for You.”
Because at the end of the day, we’re not just working for a paycheck or a pat on the back—we’re serving the Lord Christ, and He sees. He knows. And He never forgets.
So keep going. Keep showing up. Keep doing what you do heartily. Heaven takes notice—and the reward is far greater than this world could ever give.
