A New Thing!

Sometimes we get so stuck staring at the rearview mirror that we forget there’s a whole windshield full of promise right in front of us. Isaiah 43:18-19 reminds us, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

Friend, I don’t know what yesterday did to you. I don’t know what you lost, what broke, or who walked away. But I do know this: God is not finished. He is not recycling the past—He is redeeming your present and restoring your future.

He’s carving rivers through deserts. Making roads where there ain’t never been one. And if you listen close, you can almost hear the sound of new beginnings bubbling up from dry ground.

So stop dragging your feet through the ashes of what used to be and start looking for what God is bringing to life right now. Don’t miss it, just because you’re too busy mourning what’s behind you.

The past is a chapter, not the whole book. And the Author? Well, He just turned the page.

Are you ready to walk into the new thing?

Do Not Worry – Pray!

Sometimes life feels like a thunderstorm rolling in on a Sunday afternoon—unexpected, unsettling, and unrelenting. The kind that makes your dog hide under the bed and your coffee go cold. But right in the middle of that kind of chaos, the Apostle Paul drops this little gem in Philippians 4:6-7:

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace…”

Now, that’s not just good advice—that’s holy instruction. Paul’s not sayin’ don’t care. He’s sayin’ don’t carry what you weren’t meant to hold.

You’ve got a Father in Heaven who’s never been late and never been rattled. So when the thunder starts clappin’ and the worries start stackin’ up like dirty dishes in the sink—pray. Pour it out. Every anxious thought. Every fear. Every “what if.”

And here’s the miracle—when you do, peace shows up. Not a peace that comes from everything going your way. No, it’s a peace that doesn’t even make sense. It guards your heart like a night watchman, keeps your mind steady like a lighthouse in a storm.

So today—breathe deep, pray hard, and rest easy. God’s got this. And He’s got you, too!

“Why, my soul, are you downcast?  so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” — Psalm 42:11

Hey friend,

I know sometimes life hits like a thunderstorm you didn’t see coming. One minute the sun’s shining, and the next, you’re soaked in sorrow and trying to find your way through the fog. Psalm 42:11 feels like that sacred pause in the chaos where the psalmist takes a deep breath and has a heart-to-heart with his own soul.

He’s not denying the storm. He’s not pretending everything’s fine. But he is redirecting his focus. He says, “Put your hope in God.” Not in the world, not in the bank account, not even in the people we love—because all those things can let us down. But God? He doesn’t just give hope. He is hope.

So if today feels a little heavy, if your soul feels like it’s dragging, do what the psalmist did—talk to your heart, and remind it that the story isn’t over yet. You will praise again. You will smile again. You will find your strength in the One who hasn’t left your side, not even for a second.

Keep the faith, my friend. Hope in God. He’s not finished with you yet.
