Peace!

Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Now, I reckon there’s a kind of peace that no mountain storm can shake, no desert sun can scorch, and no darkness can swallow. It’s the kind of peace that settles deep, like a campfire’s glow on a cold night. It’s the peace of God, and it goes beyond what makes sense. It’s the calm in the middle of the chaos, the stillness in the noise, and the comfort when everything seems to be falling apart.

Life’s trail can get mighty rough. There are twists and turns, steep climbs, and narrow paths. Sometimes, it feels like the world’s weight is pressing down hard, and your heart and mind are about to buckle. But that’s when God’s peace steps in—guarding your heart, protecting your mind, holding you steady.

It ain’t the kind of peace you find at the bottom of a bottle or at the end of a paycheck. It’s not the peace that depends on circumstances turning out just right. It’s the kind of peace that keeps you standing tall, even when the winds howl and the rain pours.

So, when the road gets tough and you feel like you’re losing your grip, remember Philippians 4:7. Lean into the peace that only God can give. It’ll keep you steady. It’ll carry you through. It’ll light your way, even in the darkest night. And that, my friend, is a promise you can stake your life on.

Real Strength!

I reckon most of us like to think we’ve got it all together. We put on a good face, act like we can handle whatever life throws at us, and grit our teeth through the tough spots. But if we’re being honest, we all have moments when we feel weak, worn out, and just plain not enough.

That’s where 2nd Corinthians 12:9 comes in like a cool breeze on a hot summer day. The Lord said to Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” In other words, God ain’t waiting on you to be strong—He’s waiting on you to lean on Him.

See, the world teaches us to hide our weaknesses, but God says, “Bring them to Me.” Because it’s in those places where we come up short that His power shines the brightest. When we stop pretending we’ve got it all figured out, that’s when we finally give God room to work.

So maybe today, instead of fighting so hard to be strong, you let yourself rest in the strength of the One who never fails. His grace is more than enough, and His power is made perfect right where you are. And that, my friend, is real strength.

Stop Wasting Time!

3 John 1:11 (NIV)
“Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.”

Life’s full of choices. Every morning, you wake up and decide whether you’re gonna be a blessing or a burden. Whether you’re gonna bring light into the world or just be another storm cloud rolling in. John said it plain—imitate what is good, not what is evil.

Now, that sounds simple enough, but let’s be honest—bad habits are easier to pick up than good ones. You don’t have to try too hard to be selfish, bitter, or mean. It just happens. But doing good? That takes effort. That takes knowing the heart of God and letting Him work in you.

Ever notice how little kids copy everything? If Daddy hollers at the TV during a football game, the kid does too. If Mama loves people well, the kid picks that up too. We imitate what we’re around. So the question is, what are you surrounding yourself with? Who are you following?

If you spend time in God’s Word, in prayer, and with people who love the Lord, doing good becomes second nature. You stop reacting in anger and start responding in grace. You stop looking for what you can get and start looking for what you can give.

So today, don’t waste time imitating the world. Imitate Jesus. Love folks well. Forgive quick. Help where you can. And if you mess up, don’t wallow in it—just get back up and keep walking toward the light.
