One Thing!

What one thing can you do today that would change your life for the better?  Now don’t be so quick to jump on this question with an answer!  We are talking about the choice of “one thing” and “your life”!  If you only had the power, energy and ability to do one thing today – what would that one thing be?  If there was only the option of one thing, we would make our choice much more carefully!  Life is full of choices and we make thousands of choices every day, but what if we started to make one -on purpose -well thought out and deliberate choice everyday?  What if this choice was made based on our seriously, intentionally and specifically trying to make our life better?  What would your choice be?

I believe that God desires for each of us to live powerful, productive and purposeful lives.  The truth is:  Most people live powerless, unproductive and “I hope I get lucky” lives!  Stop right now and think about your life!  What does God want for you and from you?  What can you do to make your life better?  What can you do to tap into His plan and His power?  Figure out your ONE THING and you will be amazed at the difference that it will make in your life!

Paul said in Philippians:  “This one thing I do!”  What is your ONE THING?

Where Are You?

Where are you?  Right now – in your life – think about it – where are you?  Are you where you want to be?  Are you doing the things that you want to do?  Are you accomplishing things that fulfill and challenge you?  Wherever you are right now – it is where God wants you to be!  And God is willing to use where you are to get you to where you are going!

Your “right now place” generates one of three ultimate emotions:  You are either happy about where you are, sad about where you are or you are indifferent about where you are.  If you are happy, then build on that happiness and go to the new place that God has for you!  If you are sad, then realize that you don’t have to stay that way.  You are a child of the King!  Get up and do something about your unhappiness and move to the new place that God has for you.  If you are indifferent, then it means that you have moved to the place that you don’t really care.  Start caring!  You need to care!  What is God speaking into your heart and life?  What is He saying about where He wants to take you?  What is He saying about what He wants to do to and through you?

God has a plan and you are where you are right now because God has you on your way to somewhere to do some really special thing.  Get excited about where you are knowing that this place can be the launching pad for an even greater place as your grow in your relationship with Him!  Where are you?  Right where God wants you to be, now where are you going?

Guilt Free!

Yesterday we talked about how so many of us have a problem with guilt! Many of us have a problem and we don’t even know it! For most of us, it would seem that guilt is not really a big deal! We have a little every now and then, but we are basically good people and guilt for the most part seems to be something that just comes and goes! The truth is: Many of us have guilt that we never ever really get totally free from! What happens a lot of times is, we feel guilty about something that we have done or have failed to do and in order to deal with the guilt we will try to get the next thing in our lives right! The problem with this is, while we do a good thing, the good thing does not cancel out and get rid of the bad thing’s guilt in our life. A lot of times – our good thing will get rid of the guilt feeling, but the guilt is still somewhere in us and on us and having an effect on our lives. Many of us are walking around with layers of guilt and the problem with all of this guilt is that it gets in the way of our being and doing all that God has called and equipped us to do!

The fact is: When Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins – He died not only so that we could one day go to Heaven. He died so that we could be free from sin and all of it’s effects! The Bible puts it this way in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has passed away and all thing have become new!”  Let God really set you free!  Get rid of the guilt feeling and the guilt!  If God forgives you – who do you think you are to not forgive yourself?  Don’t let guilt hold you down or keep you back!  Guilt should point you to Jesus who loves you and wants to forgive and restore you.  Let Him do His thing!  Let Him set you free and then use your freedom for His glory!
